18. We live in a day where it's ok to hate. If Jordan was in his prime today, he would be hated on the same way Kobe is perceived publicly. I say publicly because deep down inside, people know he's that damn good. Why else would you hear "MVP" chants on the road? The reason why both LA football teams left is because of the greedy owners that the NFL should get rid of. They went where the money was. Both Al Davis and Georgia Frontiere are/were money wh0r3s and moved their teams away because they were promised more money.

As for the Lakers having a bad team name, I could go on and on with all the bad names in sports. If you've gone to the level of mocking a team name, you're really reaching there.

Also, I'll leave you with this. LA teams hear the "BEAT LA" chants on the road. I believe that's a sign of respect there and tells you how good we are. You don't hear "BEAT BOSTON" "BEAT NEW YORK" or "BEAT anything" else for that matter. Stop hating on Kobe, just because he's not on your team.

Kobe was nothing but amazing last night. When your top players (Gasol & Oden) aren't performing to their norm, we need players to step up..and Kobe and Vujacic did that. Thats called Team work. I wish they would've given the ball to Kobe more last night. Oh well. We'll see what happens on Thursday.

24. Only an east coast fan would accept the opinion of a SPORTS writer who makes analogies using 90210 & American Idol references.

I'm sure you know this about Pierce...he thought he was a "blood" gang member when he got his ass kicked and stabbed. Some fellow gang members (most likely the NY Knicks) got to Pierce and beat him silly. He deserved it. I don't think Pierce is faking the current injury. I have a feeling thats the reason why he didn't perform to his norm. I don't believe in what Simmons says that the Celtics were in AWWW cause they say Jack Nicholson and other celebs. Thats a typical game at the Staple Center. They are just not good on the road during the playoffs.

truth be told, rick and his rants do
bring up some very good points.

growing up here in the lost angels, the point of
" fans " arriving late or leaving early is quite valid.

we have held season tickets for the dodgers and we
would be caught dead near our seats by the 9th inning.

although well overdue and politically correct, kobe
is the best athlete of this millennium playing hoops.

however, chris paul WAS indeed the MVP this year.

( simply because he had less to work with and
does NOT have the raw talent that kobe has )

now, let's ALL face the fact NOBODY ever
expected the lakers to have gone this far.

so, win or lose this championship, the lakers
are winners just for making to the finals.
