Russert Not Well During His Final Interview

The last people Tim Russert interviewed before he died thought the newsman didn't look so good.

Writers John Harwood and Jerry Seib pre-taped an interview with Russert this morning for this weekend's episode of the "Tim Russert Show." After the interview Seib commented, "I don't think Tim felt very well."

We've asked NBC whether they plan to air this show, and who will step in on "Meet the Press" -- we haven't heard back.

He would have felt weakness just prior to cardiac arrest, wether it was caused by a coronary embolism , myocardial infarction or arrhythmic event.

So sad to lose the best. I would watch his programs and know if Tim said something it was true,. How refreshing in this day of half-truths. Sad day for America but god gets the best.

Why not let Wee Harvey Levin do Meet the Press? The can put him in a booster seat.
Of course there is that whole 'credibility' thing.

Maybe Not

TMZ wants to know who will replace Tim Russert? Here's a thought, everyone is still in shock and the family better be respected by not replacing the guy tomorrow!! I ti-vo "Meet the Press" every Sunday, so i for one will need sometime to mourn. Tim Russert was respectable and i just trusted his take on politics. I think we all need to take a breather......

I didn't agree with him politically, but he was a good man who always put his family first. They were the most important things in his lives, and you could tell by the way he talked about them with pride. My heart goes out to them and I extend my well wishes to his family.

Also, gee... I wonder why they haven't gotten back to you TMZ. How insensative. The guy DIED TODAY, and you're calling them about who will be his REPLACEMENT?

let the shock and sadness settle a bit before being retards.

The guy just died, and the last thing on the minds of his collegues who were also his friends, is "Welp, whose gonna replace old Timmy?"

You guys at TMZ are getting worse and worse. I always say it, almost half jokingly, but now its getting extremely serious as to how low you really are. Harvey should be ashamed. I can't believe this respected lawyer became a sleeze writer.

#10, How can you not agree with him politically when he doesn't take sides? He digs for the truth and thats what Tim Russert was all about. He would get to the real truth and ask straight/honest questions to the candidates. This is what is missing from every journalist nowadays. He did his homework and has an extraordinary memory. He would take specific quotes from candidates years earlier and repeat them in interviews with them and ask them to explain....which placed them on the spot. Most of them never remembered saying half of the quotes Tim remembered. AND, he also gave them as much time as needed to answer his questions. Only the strong would survive his interviews. I can't think of a single political journalist who is comparable to Tim. He was passionate about his family and about news/politics. He will be greatly missed.
