Russert Not Well During His Final Interview

The last people Tim Russert interviewed before he died thought the newsman didn't look so good.

Writers John Harwood and Jerry Seib pre-taped an interview with Russert this morning for this weekend's episode of the "Tim Russert Show." After the interview Seib commented, "I don't think Tim felt very well."

We've asked NBC whether they plan to air this show, and who will step in on "Meet the Press" -- we haven't heard back.

31. hmm...strange...makes sense 100% that is what in fact happened though....but Dr's don't ever talk with that much detail to press ..somebody has been researching and I like it !....that is the only good that can come from this sudden and totally unexpected passing!

32. Matt,

He did take sides. I mean you'd be a liar to say you didn't. He's democratic, he's worked on democratic campaigns. Being a conservative (Well, more independent now) I am not a fan of the liberal agenda, and thus I wouldn't agree with all of his political views. That's all I'm saying.

33. (I meant to say, We all take sides even when trying to be unbiased. You'd be a liar if you said you didn't.)

I typed too fast so it didn't come out the way I wanted it too.

But the main point is, he is a known democrat who started his career working on democratic campaigns, and thus I wouldn't agree with all of his political views... however he was a good man, and a man who put family first, and its a sad day to see him go, and my heart goes out to his family.

And anyone who claims to be conservative bashing a man who has just passed, you're the reason people are ashamed to admit they're republican. He was still a human being. Being conservative means looking at all life as precious. Its why we're not pro-choice. So to bash someone the moment he dies is disgusting and borderline emotionally disturbed. Shame on you.

35. We loved you Tim. The true-fair and balanced journalist. I know G-d is saying, well done and rest now my good and faithful servant. My prayers go out to the family.

36. 'Just sorry to lose such talented Journalist. I found him to be really a fair man, and equally to each and every one that he came in contact. I know that he had many, many friends...and have hopes of the political groups will not polute his image by claiming , "he was my so great friend", when in truth they were just like the rest of us....we liked him but did not ever make the assumption or claim a closeness that did not exist only proud to have known him and pray for his family and really true friends that will certainly miss him. I never met him, but I too will miss him because I frankly liked him very much and appreciated the gracious way that he represented himself. I pray he has found his place in heaven among those that did so well on earth, and favor in the eyes of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Thank you for allowing me to post my feelings.

37. God guys (TMZ Staffers, I mean, especially "editors" if you have any), I mean, the man dies in the early afternoon, they announce at roughly 3:40 and at not yet 5:30, you're asking them to notify you as to who will be replacing the man who pretty much *ran* their Washington Bureau??? Really??? Which crackpot authorized *that* phone call??? Stupid and callous don't even *begin* to describe you on this one guys.

38. Mayu... The campaigns you work on don't always / necessarily equate to your party affiliation. Most times, sure, but not always. I'm just sayin'. (I mean, I'm not trying to start a debate, honest, I just think that when it comes to campaigning, it comes down more toward the candidates themselves than party affiliation. ( But hey, I'm just a lib ;) *teasing wink and a grin)

42. I watched him most Sundays, but Russert was a SHILL for leftist B. Hussein Obama, and soft on traitor Scott McClellan. Not the best way to end your career.

44. Tim Russert was one in a million. It was his research and effort that made the show great. He could have been the usual ego talking head, showing up right before air time and makeup and reading a script. No, he used his intellect, and his skills as a lawyer to probe subjects and guests, asking what was important to the American people. Well done Tim. God must have wanted to remind us all of a great father also by taking him right before Father's Day.

45. As usual, your clips are NOTHING, NADA, BOGUS, non-items....just an excuse to sit thru your adverts. Harvey & CO can only DREAM of coming anywhere near Tim's level of journalism. You guys continue to amaze me in your ambulance-chasing, poor taste and crap non-reporting. Karma will be a bitch when it bites you in the ass.
