Bernadette Peters: Good Genes or Good Docs?

Film, television and stage star Bernadette Peters has been acting and singing professionally since she was ten-years-old -- which from the looks of it was only a few years ago!

16. She looks great - don't know if she's been under the knife, but she has used fillers and botox. People age. Even healthy people. She's in the entertainment business and has to look good. What isn't good is how so many women change their appearance - big boobs, tiny noses, implanted cheekbones, fake hair, fat "do me" lips - that things become so phony and pathetic.

17. There ain't no docs around good enough to produce those results. If there were, you can be sure other celebs would use them too. I don't remember seeing any other stars looking that good & that natural.

18. One way to sorta see if there might be any plastic surgery is by looking at their neck. Usually their face is younger looking but their necks look like a aging turkey.
She DOES NOT have the turkey neck. She looks great.

19. I have to agree with topsyturvy, if that is through modern medicine, that woman has one hell of a doctor. Either way, she still looks great!

20. I always say you can tell by the neck. Her neck looks younger than her face. She has a few lines here and there. She wears them proudly. Good for you, Bernadette. I hope I look as good as she does when I'm 60. I've got 40 years to find out.

21. I agree #12. Through a lifetime of smiling, laughing, frowning and other facial movements, people get lines. She had lines in the earlier shot, so she does get them. She obviously has taken care of herself, so her skin is great. But for her to have no lines at 60, she would have to have had some help from well-done injections; not necessarily plastic surgery.

22. Her chin is wider. It appears she has used botox and restylane. She looks very good and very natural.

23. Surgery or not, this is how older women should strive to look. Trying to recapture 19, when you're 4 decades older than that, is not feasible or attractive. If she's had surgery, she was smart enough to stop while she was way ahead. If she's used fillers and Botox, her restraint shows.

To all you young women out there, jumping on the Botox, filler, surgery bandwagon at age 30. Stop. Stop now. There is no way you'll ever look like this at 60 if you start do that crap at 30. You may subtract what amounts to a couple of years at 30, but you'll always be chasing after 25, and NEVER be able to achieve that look. I think any woman, whether 30, 40, 50, or 60 and beyond, would love to look like Bernadette does now. I know of several younger women (Shauna Sands, et al) who have had so much work done before age 40, that they're going to be one hot mess in 20 years.

24. She looks fantastic. Even FIBiker found her "doable"!
Just look at her neck and chest ! It's as line-free and tout as 20 years ago, and she is 60!!!
I do think she has had her lips augmented a little, because her upper lip is now as plump as her lower lip, and when she was younger, her lower lip was much plumper then her upper lip.

25. This is it ! I am going to put sunscreen on every day. And a hat .

26. "Sighs".
She is so, SO fine.
She reminds me of one of Velasquez's Spanish Habsburg princesses; the heavy chin, you know.

27. She looks wonderful now but she has obviously had some minimal work done so it doesn't look unnatural. Her nose has been tweaked, her eyes are shaped different, and her lips look a bit different. Also, her face is fuller which makes her look even better today than she did in the 70s and 80s.

28. Her face looks plumper in the second picture because the angle of the shot is different. She is somewhat profiled in the first pic which would make her face appear slimmer. This woman has had very little if any work done. She just took extremely good care of herself! NO SUN, BOOZE, CIGS or DOPE.

29. Ms Peters has always taken very good care of herself.. You can tell when u look at photos over the years. However having seen her in various live shows I have to say shes had some work done--- nothing terribly invasive. Botox mini-lifts ect..... However the Doctors can only work with what they have-- and it helps when someone like Ms Peters has taken very good care of themselves-- a little tweak here and there deosnt minimize the results. I could point out the tell tale signs in that photo but I wont because nature gave her something and she took good care of herself (whether or not a doctor tweaked her here or there is not that important)
