32. I agree about Tim's deplorable performance AGAINST Hillary in the February debate. It was terrible, was rightly parodied on SNL, and it's of course, never been mentioned in this weekend of tributes. It's part of the record, and it shows the "good ole boys" in the media, led by Russert, were going overboard to make sure Hillary never became President.

It was only after he died that I heard about his life and started t o wonder whether this prejudice against Hillary was a reflection of his Irish Catholic upbringing. After all, in the Catholic Church, a woman can never be the head. Only a man can be the pope, can be a priest, and can give Holy Communion. A a woman can be smart, can devote herself to the Catholic Church, and can work as hard as humanly possible her entire life, but THE HIGHEST SHE CAN HOPE TO GO IS THROUGH MARRYING CHRIST, i.e., BECOMING A NUN, A HELPMATE. CATHOLICS ARE TAUGHT, THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES, THAT A WOMAN CAN NEVER BE THE HEAD.

36. Tim had returned to Washington, from a long plane flight from Italy the night before his heart attack. When you sit that long, if you have one, you can throw a blood clot, due to lack of movement. That is precisely what happened. What a great journalist we have lost. I am sad.

37. Tim was so much fun to watch and so easy to relate to. My husband and I are so sad to see him go- it's too bad to see the negative comments that are posted so the posters can get a "laugh". Hope nothing terrible happens to you guys or your family and someone else criticizes or makes fun. (hey "put down the fork lardo", this is from both a Democrat and a Republican- and yes, we understand the concept of moral obligations- jerk.)
Our condolences to Tim's family and friends- wish there were more journalists like him.

I completely agree Bob. I was raised a Catholic, women are always subservient to men in the church, they can't be priests, etc. I quit watching Russert also after that deplorable hatchet job against Hillary. It was deeply ingrained in him obviously to GET this woman who was running for the head of the country.
