Mickey Doesn't Wear Turbans!

Mouse ears don't grow on turbans, according to a Sikh trumpeter who says he got negged for a job by Disney because of his religious headgear -- and facial hair.

In his suit, Sukhbir Channa says when he applied for a job at Disney World in 2006, he was told his turban, beard, and long hair didn't conform to the "Disney look." Here's the goofy part: just a few months before, in 2005, he says he marched as a toy soldier in a Disney parade with no problems-- but then his turban was hidden by a big toy soldier hat.

Disney tells TMZ that Channa's claim is "without merit."

61. Lucy Phoenix you are very insensitive and not very PC. We should shut down all the pork processing plants and
chemical plants and send the work overseas. That way no one gets there feelings hurt. We should also teach our
children spanish as a first language and chop off one hand of thieves. We have soooo much to learn from other
cultures.

62. Hey Linda,
Try educating yourself before you post. Not all people who wear turbans are Muslims. This guy is a Sikh-look it up- dumb ass.

64. Note to turban wearers; if your religion requires it, fine. But don't go demanding that businesses change their rules and procedures because you chose a specific look. No beards and hats means it. You don't like it, go look for another job.

65. OMG... where do we live? Sikhs are NOT Muslims, you raging idiots. It is a sect of Hinduism. Hindus, for the record, are the least violent people on the planet. And this article did not say anything about the guy in question not being American. Unless I missed something.
Ugggh... go learn something you uneducated losers. That's why people like you will spend your life washing Indian people's cars and bagging their groceries, while they cure cancer and make millions doing it.

66. sikhs are NOT muslims. they are NOT a sect of hindus. they are a separate religion and they are required to wear turbans. a sikh man in my town of mesa, az was murdered one week after 9/11 by someone who thought his turban equaled terrorism. it does not. the sikhs in my town are some of the nicest people i've ever met. some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves for writing these comments. when the next hate crime occurs, we'll have you to blame...

67. He's a dummy and needs to get over himself. We live near Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and , my daughter worked there, as well as many of her male and female friends. It's a policy that "NO FACIAL HAIR IS ALLOWED! and NO LONG HAIR ON MEN!" Everyone needs to have a natural hair color and no bleached/dyed funky hair colors allowed. Disney is very strict about this policy as they want to have the "all american squeeky clean look".

68. 62. Although I appreciate your support for the Sikhs. SIKHISM IS NOT PART OF HINDUISM or ISLAM!! Get your facts straight. it is the fifth largest religion in the world. and originated in India. ....But it is not a "sect of hinduism" and for the record Sikhism isn't a violent religion.

70. I think Disney world itself is creepy for pretending to portray
a white bread clean America that just doesn't exist, except
in people's delusions.

71. I am a sikh and sikhism is separate from islam and hinduism. We will win this lawsuit because we are persistent and will never give up and that is not a bad thing. I suggest micky, daffy, donald and goofy spend the day at a sikh temple to learn about religious tolerance, mind you they will have to cover their heads and take there shoes off! Kind regards :-)

72. Wow, how stupid can people be? First of all, sikhs are not muslims. Second, Muslims are not bad people. Just because a small number of Muslims were found to be terrorists, this does not mean that the whole religious sect is bad. There are plenty of people from other religious sects that have conducted equally heinous acts. People need to broaden their horizons and learn about other cultures and religions before making idiotic, biased opinions. I do not believe that Disney needs to change their dress code. However, the number of raging idiots that commented on this article makes me think that respect is just not as common as it used to be.

73. #62 (From NYC) Hindus are the least violent people on the planet huh? Why don't you do some research and find out
what happened when India gained its independence from Britain around 1947. 100,000s of Muslims were killed. Also:
Until it was outlawed, the Hindu wife had to throw herself on a fire and burn herself to death when her husband died.
As a side note: The cast system where some people were "untouchables" is a Hindu practice. Before you call other
people uneducated why don't you get some motivation and get your GED. I recently read were one in four
New Yorkers had herpes, must make for a bummer of a club scene.

74. For all you idiots who keep saying "The rules are no facial hair no hats etc", hes not wearing a hat. His turban is his religious practice. Most of you won't understand unless you don't get a job because you love Jesus. So try and understand its not an issue of someone deciding to dye there hair, or wear an offensive t-shirt, this is a religious issue. Its an offense against the bill of rights. All of you "IM SO AMERICAN's" need to understand that YOUR bill of rights is being ignored by Disney. Also take the time, download, and read the case before you make yourself look like ignorant American trash, because no one likes ignorant American trash.

75. Disney has right on thier website BEFORE you apply....what is accepted and what is not, and it is extremely clear no facial hair and no accessories, religious or otherwise. You can't really even wear jewelery. How about trying to make a buck here? Geez people are stupid.
