The New Popwreck Palace?

TMZ has obtained the first photos of the ginormous Calabasas mansion where Britney Spears is hoping to shack up ... and it's frickin ridiculous!
Launch photos
As TMZ first reported, Britney has been "looking like crazy" to move out of her Hollywood Hills home and into the calmer, quieter Valley.

Check out the crib Brit Brit is trying to lock down -- appropriately called "Chateau Suenos" or "House of Dreams" -- and it's a house made for MTV.

46. Looks like a fancy Taco Bell.

47. Looks like a poor replica of a true estate. Looks like some really cheap materials in some of those rooms. She could probably do a lot better.

48. Yuck. Seriously. This house does NOTHING for me. It's big, but the layout is weird. The design and materials are all out of style (and mismatched tiles and stuff just look messy). It looks like someone's bored housewife picked out everything themselves when it was being built, and they had no idea what they were doing. It looks a mess. And the kitchen is ridiculously small for a house that size. Keep looking.

49. I dont like it. I dont like the dark hard wood floors. The papprazzi are always spying on her - why would she want an open range in teh back of her home, where everyone can watch her? I do like the drive way though. I think for that amount she could find a prettier house with privacy. And no I am not jealous.

50. @HARDY-HAR-HAR I agree the lay out if weird. Its as though all the doors are leading to the fountain/well. why? its just wasted space. Its not even pretty.

51. This is a sorry excuse for a "California Dream Home." So outdated and mis-matched. It looks like my Grandma decorated it. The Deer Horn chandelier is the only thing I DO like!

For me, a California Dream Home should be - at the very least - Contemporary. If not Modern. This house she is looking at needs to be completely re-done. And why such a puny kitchen??????

53. IT'S NOT PART OF THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THINGS HOLY.

54. Love the house....She deserves it!!!!

55. What a beautiful house (except for the awful colors and fixtures in the kitchen). Those hard wood floors are fabulous. But why is she trying to move into a "neighborhood?" Unless the press leaves her alone, she's not going to make many friends.

56. Fabulous Home! Fabulous Girl! You go Britney!

This home is located in the gated community of the "Oaks Calabasas" This house is located in the extreme wealth section "The Estates at the Oaks" Some of the Jacksons live in here too.

The main community of many homes start at 1.4 million and go up to 6 million. The Estate section has their own guard house and they are 8-10ish million.

Fabulousness!

57. Very nice...but one week after she moves in, the place will smell like an ashtray!

58. Why does she need a home with a library? She probably doesn't read much ... A wine cellar? Maybe she could install a Starbucks or at minimum a nice frappuchino machine?
She can always rent the guest house out to Jamie Lynn I suppose ...
This looks like something someone would build on a winery estate and use as a bed & breakfast ... hasn't she learned anything from Ed McMahon and Mike Tyson? Money doesn't grow on trees and her musical "talents" are questionable at best. Save your money for your old age, you might not think it's coming, but it sure is!
Her time has come and passed ... her earning power is going to be very limited.

59. It is awesome, but I would want that waterside.

60. Too bad she won't stay home and enjoy that new house. Really, I think she'd be just as happy in VW as long as she can cruise the streets of Hollywood on her way to no place special. All that money, and no true life just bop from gas station to Starbucks. How sad that is.
