Hotel Says Spector Stiffed Them

Phil SpectorAn L.A. hotel is suing Phil Spector, his wife Rachelle and his agent, claiming they walked out on their more than $100k hotel bill during his murder trial.

In the suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites says they reserved rooms for the music producer's lawyers and expert witnesses during the trial. After seven months of trial, the hotel alleges, Spector had racked up a bill to the tune of more than $104,000.

The hotel says when they sent a letter demanding to get paid, Spector refused to pay, instead demanding a serious discount.

34. Not surprised what's gone down here. I agree with the comments that the staff/hotel were on the naive and gullible side,
that it's outrageous for Spector to have taken advantage the way he did and then demand a discount of all things,
he should be begging them for mercy.

35. The Bronx's own Phil Spector cheated his wife, Ronnie Spector, cheated the great Darlene Love, cheated the women and men who helped put him on the map. No one should be surprised at this latest outrage.

Yet America didn't get angry with him the way they did at O.J. Simpson, who was also accused of murdering an attractive blonde. Why the double standard?

36. The hotel employees got off easy--at least he didn't take anyone to his mansion and shoot them.

37. They should have known what they were getting into.
They should have used more common sense and cut him off like you cut off a drunkard when he/she has had too much.

Seems Phil Spector's life is a life of excess.
Excessive entitlement issues----like he deserves the very best
Excessive need to control
Excessive in his beratement of others
Excessive need for guns and protection
Excessive need to look 'cool' by hiring a wife to play the part.
Excessive ego.....

41. Classic Spector cheapskate tactics. Nothing to raise any eyebrows here.

Hey TMZ: plenty of claims out there that this so-called marriage is a complete sham. Perhaps you could provide actual proof.

42. Soon he'll be taking it up the ass for the rest of his pathetic life. As far as that waitress goes, OK she didn't deserve it by no means but you people should quit calling her actress. B list, D list whatever. She was a waitress and that's it.

43. what do they expect renting to a murderer and a whore

44. Disgraceful and distasteful. The hotel obviously catered to his every whim and it yet still isn't good enough? He wants a DISCOUNT? Are you f-in kidding me?

The one thing PS and RS have in common is that they are both spoiled, immature little kids who when they don't get their way, they stomp, scream,....Rachelle will try twisting arms while Spector bears them!

45. Some more detail, courtesy of the LA Times:

"The Westin provided Spector with special accommodations, including "heavenly beds," complimentary workouts for his attorneys and a secured "litigation war room" guarded with key-card access, said Shari L. Rosenthal, an attorney for the Westin.

Spector stayed at the hotel from February of last year until Sept. 29, three days after a jury deadlocked on his murder case, in which he was accused of shooting actress Lana Clarkson.

The producer rented four luxury suites at a discounted rate for his wife and himself, his attorneys, witnesses and guests.

The hotel made numerous efforts to "amicably arrange" for payment, according to the suit, but Spector refused to pay unless the sum was drastically discounted. The hotel is asking for more than $5,000 in accrued interest".

After this hotel stay, the next hotel Phil chooses to abuse should slip something else OTHER than a mint under his pillow. Now that would be a REALLY 'heavenly' bed.
