We're told new daddy Casey Aldridge was so nervous the first time he held his daughter, he told the family he was scared he'd drop her!

TMZ spies say that Casey and Mama Lynne were the only ones in the OR when Maddie was born -- Brit Brit waited outside anxiously. We hear that the family is thrilled that baby Maddie is "happy, healthy and gorgeous" and our source says the family is closer than ever.

Jamie Lynn is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days, but big sis is already back at the house with her fast food fix.

46. I have to laff and agree with the ladies in here squaking about how she doesn't look anywhere near this pic now. Men, heed that warning, they are sooooooooooo right. Wear that raincoat. And by the way, we shouldn't take it out on the kid, yet. Just give the offspring time, chances are it will be TMZ fodder in about 15 or so years.

47. Everyone I know who has been a new father, including my husband has said that very same thing, or that they were afraid the baby 'would break'. It's a typical new father feeling. It's endearing and after the first time holding their child, their comfortable with the baby.
Congratulations to the new parents. Young or not.... they reality is they are now parents and I wish them a lifetime of joy and blessings.

She had a C-section. That is major surgery and you're always in the hospital for 4 or 5 days afterward.

52. #55 and 50...ur LUCKY if they let u stay in the hspt 4-5 days!!....u need the healing time..but most send u home after 3 days max if u don't have complications and that is too early!

55. Contrary to reports claiming Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to her baby daughter Maddie Briann Aldridge by Cesarean Section on Thursday, OK! can officially confirm that the 17-year old new mom delivered her baby naturally and without complications.

Jamie Lynn's healthy baby girl came into the world this morning at 9:33 a.m., and weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. Mom and baby are resting comfortably surrounded by family--including sister Britney Spears, parents Jamie and Lynne Spears and brother Bryan Spears.
