We're told new daddy Casey Aldridge was so nervous the first time he held his daughter, he told the family he was scared he'd drop her!

TMZ spies say that Casey and Mama Lynne were the only ones in the OR when Maddie was born -- Brit Brit waited outside anxiously. We hear that the family is thrilled that baby Maddie is "happy, healthy and gorgeous" and our source says the family is closer than ever.

Jamie Lynn is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days, but big sis is already back at the house with her fast food fix.

65. Give the kids a break. They made a mistake, but at least are owning up to and taking a mature route. As far as the daddy being afraid to drop the baby, This is so not uncommon. We just welcomed our third baby and my 32 year old husband is still anxious about it. I think I would be more worried if this 17 year old was completely comfortable with it. Hopefully this is a new experience for him.

66. Is it just me or does anyone notice the picture of Jamie is obviously at least 8 or 9 years old and the pic of Casey looks recent. Why does the media (yes TMZ is part of the corrupt trash media right next to FOX, CNN, and other outlets) always manipulate, and exaggerate stories and images to try and invoke emotion and controversy. For gods sake at least use a current photo of Jamie Lynn. The media in this country should be SHUT THE DOWN!

67. as a matter of fact my parents had there 1st kid when they were 16(mom) and 17(dad) and they are very successful.my mom also went to college while my dad worked a full time job in the world trade center then moving on to the world yatch club.which by the way is a hard place to get a job.and now the have a total of 5 kids.and saying things like oh you should of left the baby in the dumpster and many other irrational comments just shows how low as well as jealous people can be because they are not them and don't have as much money.you just need to get a life and leave he be if she has a baby oh well its her own choice.i think she will be a great mother!again get a life and stop saying rap about someone you don't even know!!!!shows how much incompetent people can be!

shame on tmz for writing negitive stuff about britney. this family has been through alot y do you have to down britney when something so wonderful and joyous has happened the birth of an innocent child. shame on you!!!!!
there are more familes then the spears going through tough times, can 't you just be happy that all is o.k. and let them all be and live their lives the best they can.
