We're told new daddy Casey Aldridge was so nervous the first time he held his daughter, he told the family he was scared he'd drop her!

TMZ spies say that Casey and Mama Lynne were the only ones in the OR when Maddie was born -- Brit Brit waited outside anxiously. We hear that the family is thrilled that baby Maddie is "happy, healthy and gorgeous" and our source says the family is closer than ever.

Jamie Lynn is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days, but big sis is already back at the house with her fast food fix.

87. i know 30yr old dads who were nervous about holding their babies! geez! it's pretty much a guy thing. as they aren't typically raised to even be near children, it's no surprise that when they have their first, that they're nervous wrecks! and there's no real reason for brit to stay at the hospital the ENTIRE time jamie's in there. jamie and lynn probably told her to go home anyways. she's probably there with her dad and brother making phone calls and getting last minute stuff together for the baby. of course, i also hope that lynn went home. yes, new mom's do need older mom's around to "help them out," but in this case, she should bugger off and let them be for awhile. of course, i think EVERYONE should leave the new mom and dad alone after the baby is born so they can all bond quietly. but that's just me.
