Celebrity Justice
Feds Bill Snipes for Making Him Pay

Wesley Snipes already owes almost $3 mil in back taxes -- and now the feds want to milk him for $200K more to pay the price for throwing him in the slammer.

The government just sent a bill to the judge in the case, reports the Orlando Sentinel, and getting Snipes convicted wasn't cheap. The total was $217,363 -- and can you believe that almost all of that, $193,000 to be exact, was just for the documents?

Maybe Wes can pony up -- if nothing else -- for the $138.18 that it cost to make "certified color copies" of certain exhibits. He's free on appeal, and his attorneys have officially objected to the fees.

5. Why doesn't the Government go after ebay sellers? I know someone that makes 300k a year on ebay and doesn't pay a dime in taxes. That's just one person on ebay out of thousands that are getting away with not paying.

6. # 5, what in the world are they selling on ebay to make that kind of money anyhow????

7. The government is such a FRAUD! I LOVE how they always try to make it appear like they're the good guys. They're simply trying to milk every dime they can from an actor, meanwhile big oil evades BILLIONS in taxes while sticking it to consumers for over six years now. Same way they crucified Vick for animal cruelty but were very quiet and lenient when one of their so-called heroic soldiers threw a poor bound puppy off a cliff. PHONIES!

9. #6

They go to yard sales, estate sales and auction houses and get things cheap and resell them on ebay. They sell coins, pottery, silver, dolls, old paper items, clothes, instruments anything antique. I have seen them buy box lots countless times for 10 to 100 dollars to then make 600 off of just one item in the box. They don’t work, ebay is their full time job. It’s tax free and it’s not right when the rest of us have to pay taxes or go to jail.

11. Go Snipes! I hope he wins his appeal, our tax dollars have already been fancied about in enough pretentious ways, kind of like our government spending on military items... I recently had cause to see the new 'posters' and stickers etc that the Marines are handing out at schools nationwide. Talk about an expensive print job, not to mention what they pay on 'branding', lest we get ito the cost of 'sending our troops abroad to fight the bad fight, yet you want to go after a dude who's made millions entertaining folks, and probably doesn't have a ton to show for it after all his 'people' get their cut? F**k Off. Bring back our boys, pony up and shut up. Instead be bitter and disappointed finding out that on May 22, 2008, the Senate approved H.R.2642, an emergency supplemental appropriations bill that would provide the Bush Administration with $165.4 billion in unrestricted funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. No one asked my opinion on that one. I didn't see the ballot for that.

12. Damn I guess he should not have made Murder @ 1600!!!

#11 I feel you on that, good post! The Feds seem hell bent on bringing down as many so called wealthy types who do not bow down to them, and making them a public spectacle. What this is; is advertising for the Gov't letting up common folk know that we are keeping a tab and we are comming for you!!! Its not just about money folks, its also about population control. If we are running out of natural resources like oil and drinking water (like down here in ATL drought every year) then we need to start locking up ppl to even things out. Again I'm refering to common mid-class civilians if they locked up Vick for 2-3yrs over killing dogs that He bread to fight then publicize it all over ESPN the same ntwk that shows Hunting helpless herbavors with high capacity assult rifles... what do you think they have in store for us poor schmucks??? Tell your ebay ppl its comming they're simply adding up the tab so when they come not only are you bled dry you will also face 3-5yrs hard time/ free labor!!!

13. Why are there those posting here drawing a comparison between a guy guilty of not paying taxes and the war on Iraq? Are you really trying to say that he should not be made to pay taxes because of a war going on that you do not agree with?

Let me make a silly comparison too: So the Government is wasting it’s time on collecting Wesley’s back taxes so that it can pay to keep secret the UFO that crashed at Roswell. If they just told us the truth they wouldn’t have to go after any actors’ back taxes. You know an army of sasquatches have been trained to guard area 51 which is where the UFO is kept and also where the frozen body of Walt Disney is.

Good for the Government for going after the prosecution costs. He knew he evaded taxes and decided to go to trial. The cost to prosecute him cost a lot of money. Why should we, the tax payers, be made to pay the cost of the suit when it should never have gone that far?

To the guy with the friends making a killing on e-bay. It really upsets me too when somebody tries to skip out on paying their fair share of taxes. You should report them to the IRS.

14. w ~ My suggestion, since you are sooo disgusted with these people is, pick up the phone and call the IRS! Tell the IRS what their names are and give them the address....................trust me, before they know it they will be audited or have an IRS agent knocking on the door.

15. He should pay his taxes, I do. He's not better than I am, so just pay up. And for the post I read about big oil evading billions, ummmm, you need to talk to Congress on that one, since they are the one's that are giving the oil companies the discount in the first place. Besides, what does that have to do with Wesley Snipes not paying his taxes????

Bottom line, he owes in back taxes and should pay, no big deal, just like everyone else. Also, it is not unheard of and its quite frequent that people pay what it cost the city, state, feds, etc............... to prosecute the case.
