Tila Tequila is doing her thing. She’s a pioneer. She became famous by simply using a new technology and many people have since been chasing after her trying to replicate her success, but to no avail. She MADE herself famous and became a celebrity all on her own. She now has a show that was popular enough to get renewed for a second season, and her name ranks as one of the most recognizable. She has achieved a level of celebrity few others have ever or will ever. Her face is recognized wherever she goes, she is pursued by the media and adoring fans, and she achieved all this on her own. She is famous enough to attract the attention of the media and have her business put on blast here on TMZ. What will any of you ever achieve in life? Will history ever remember you? She has left her indelible footprint on our culture and will be remembered for that. She has reserved a place in the annals of history and her name and image will be known long after she is gone. That is an amazing feat.

She will never win an Oscar, or a Grammy. She will never be recognized for her brilliance or for contributing greatly to society, but she WILL be remembered. That is more then any of your parents achieved, or your kids will ever achieve, and it is especially more they YOU will ever achieve.

Despite the heroism performed by any paramedic within their lifetime, they will be unknown in this world and will be lost to history.

I am not saying that Tila is meaningfully contributing to our society (but then again does any celebrity meaningfully contribute to society) only that I guarantee you her name will survive and her imprint on this world will be remembered. Why? Because she did something exceptional. She became a celebrity using myspace. She had the forethought to use a new technology to successfully create fame and notoriety for herself. 50 years from now if your grandchildren ask you “Who is Tila Tequila” you will be able to answer them….most people in this Country will be able to answer them. The same is simply not true with most other people, including paramedics.

I just like you will most likely be relegated to the realm of obscurity upon our deaths. Tila will live on… immortal.
