23. I live in Philly. Alycia Layne was a good anchor. What about that co-anchor Larry Mendte who was stalking her for MONTHS because she became a bigger star than he was. The FBI is currently investigating Larry, who snooped through Alycia's personal email and then "leaked" the info to the press.

Give this woman her job back. And yes, I'd do her in a HOT MINUTE!

24. I live in Philly and I think the concensus here is no one liked her - she's a skank. She, alone, gave herself the bad press by sending pictures of herself in a bikini to a married man. Who does that and what do you expect from doing that? I think she got off way too easy from the NYC incident. I'm glad she's no longer in Philly, although I'm sure we'll hear about her wherever she ends up. You can't change who you really are by relocating.

25. She is absolutely getting a bad wrap. The pics were of her and a group of friends on a beach and the "co-worker" was an old friend. She was essentially cleared in the NYC incident. Now her co-anchor has had his personal computer confiscated by the FBI because he was looking at Alycias personla e-mails and leaking them to the press. She is not a whore or a gold digger- just a great looking chick who is getting a really bad wrap.

However, I would buy the Playboy she was in, if it came down to that.

26. I also live in the Philly area and the others are right - the Dr. Phil show was YEARS ago and she certainly wasn't complaining back then! I only hope that they find out she was also making up the stuff about Larry Mendte because it would be a shame for him to destroy his whole career over a tramp like this!

She chose the wrong city to anchor in - apparently she meant to go to L.A. not PA.

28. Give me a break! We are ALL better off without her! She is a stuck up B who acts like trash. Stop blaming everyone else for YOUR actions. I used to listen to her boyfriend Booker and he would go on and on about her which is probably had something to do with why he got fired. Not good publicity to support a cop beater. I am glad she is gone but tired of her poor me routine. Suck it up Alicia and move on.

29. Who knows what the real story is after all the spin doctoring going on. One thing's for sure: Someone in this mess has a rep who has gone overboard on the P.R. Where they may have thought it a good thing to air her side of the story it has [ironically] worked against her.

Philly is a major U.S. city, no doubt. But it's not so big that a local affiliate in broadcast news should render this former co-anchor any major spotlighting before even becoming nationally known as say, Jessica Savitch,

Had those in her corner sought a different (as well as a much more conservative path of damage control) she might have been sitting in a much better position for light later down the road.

Instead, she's been tossed out left and right to speak her "side" of things when all along "things" really didn't matter all that much in the public's eyes to begin with.

Now she not only has to contend with her legal battles but she also has to find resolution in the fact that her career will never be the same due to her P. R. team burps.

She'll be lucky at best to find employment in the broadcast industry above the tabloid style shows...even then, Springer has an edge over her.

Sometimes it's best to shut-up and take it to make the statement of having the sofistication and taste above others involved. Ignoring the roaches so to speak.
