F***, George Carlin's Dead

George CarlinBust out those seven words, it's time for a tribute. Legendary comedian George Carlin has died.

The 71-year-old Carlin died around 6:00 PM PT this evening at an L.A. hospital after being admitted earlier in the afternoon for chest pains.

A battle over his comedy -- namely his "Filthy Words" routine -- went all the way to the Supreme Court.

17. One of my best memories of him doing standup is when he talked about all the "Stuff" people have. And the car windows that you have to roll down manually. Sigh. He will really be missed. Bye bye George. It's the end of an era.

20. I just watched one of his routines on cable again the other night. As a kid...his 7 words you can't say on television stuck with me. Great great comic! May be keep the folks up in heaven laughing their heads off.

23. An inspiring man. He did great things for freedom of speech, going all the way to the supreme court to defend his right to do his routine. Bless him, and bless his family in their time of grief.
