351. "If he's making people laugh in Heaven right now he's made a dramatic change in his delivery. That filth he spewed out would never be tolerated in Heaven."

Oh really? And you know this how? Your type sickens me. You think you know something about God and God's rules -- when all you are really doing is trying to give more credence to your own mere opinions. Your view of Heaven sounds like pure censorship. Wow -- some kind of God you CHOOSE to believe in.

353. WHO are you people to judge where George is now? So he had comedy routines where he said there was no God. DO you know for SURE that he did not have God in his PRIVATE life? NO, you don't know. IS he in Heaven? Unless you are there, you have NO clue. GOD Is our ONLY judge..not you people so as a Christian, I'm telling you all point blank - zip it!!! Judge NOT!! Good grief! Christians of ALL people should know better and you know, it is the fair weather Christians who drive people AWAY from God...the judgemental "Oh he is NOT in Heaven" Christians. HOW do you know? Have you been there to check? The God I know is loving and forgiving and you people have NO clue what the man did in private. Taking the Lord's name in vain is never a good thing, but He forgives, unlike people. RIP George.. I do hope you are there and see now yes, George, there is a God and He loves you now and always has. MISSSSSS you already!!

354. 293. To #76: Sorry to disagree with you Julia, but I can say for sure that his style of "entertainment" will not be tolerated in Heaven. You see, I read the Bible.

So do I..and I recall Jesus saying to "love one another as I have loved you." Were there any exceptions?? NO!! God wouldn't listen to that "profanity laced language"? HOW do you know? God loves ALL of His creations - including George. DO you know what he did in his private life? NO!!! Read your Bible further where it says "Judge NOT Lest Ye shall be judged." Did you see that in there? I cannot believe the judgemental "Christians" here. Christian = Christ-like. You Christians posting here are NOT acting Christ-like. God is George's only judge..not you. And to who said "Christians have to stick up when they are made fun of" or something to that effect: WHAT did Jesus do when He was mocked and beaten?? If you are going to so called "walk the walk" then you'd best "talk the talk" God loves Carlin as much as He loves any of us. If you "Christians" barking like idiots and judging George Carlin actually READ your Bible, you wouldn't make such outlandish comments. RIP George..so VERY missed already.. sign me a TRUE Christian who loved George's hilarious humor and his mastertry (sp?) of our language.

355. Five days later and I still can't quite believe it. I was in shock when I found out on Monday morning, and I knew my boyfriend wasn't going to take it too well. (He didn't, either; this was his favorite comedian) George Carlin may have offended a lot of people with his raunchy standup, but you have to admit the guy knew what he was talking about. RIP, George. We mortals here on Earth sure do miss you.

356. Yes, this is a sad time that George is gone..I got to see him in concert for the first time this past November at the Tower in Philadelphia..so cool! He had me and everyone laughing hysterically! My family always listened to his albums and such..so I pretty much grew up on him. I love all his HBO specials..my favorite skit, is about the Rice Krispies..LOLOL I think it's Carlin at Carnegie Hall..if you never saw it..rent it you will not be dissappointed! Also Carlin on Campus..LOL..I love when he says he is going to start to pray..and he says " Dear Lord, please let me find a nemphomaniac who has a cocaine habit and who also owns a ferrari dealership! LOLOLOL

I hope George is in Peace whereever he maybe and may his family find comfort.

357. Does anyone know any details about George Carlin's death? I know he had previous heart attacks, but seeing that he went into the hospital in the afternoon and didn't die until hours later, what measures were taken to keep him alive? I would think with so much time to examine and diagnose him that they could have cut him open and done manual heart massage if they had to. It's just a little surprising to me that it wasn't a situation where he was ultimately being kept alive by machines and then a decision made to let him go. Was he very sick for some previous period of time or did he have a DNR on file or what?? If they can't keep a tough, mean, brilliant son of a bitch like George Carlin alive for a longer period of time, then I guess he was right and there is no god!

358. I have been sitting here reading all the comments about the passing of Mr. Carlin, ( i didn't know him so i'm not going to act like i did and call him George). Many people expressed their condolences and many called him a crazy, mean old coot. No matter what you thought of him he was a human being and deserves some respect. He was a great comedian who used vulgar language to get a point across. As he got older he got more cynical as many of us do. I personnally prefer his earlier works than the most recent stuff but thats my preference as it is all of yours to choose what you like. Remember, he was a comedian and it was his job to make us laugh, don't take it personnal. As Mr. Carlin once said, there are two knobs on the radio, one adjusts the volume and the other CHANGES THE STATION!!!! If you didn't like him, then change the station, nobody is making you listen to him. If there is a heaven then i'm sure he is there for doing a good job, not for the language or actions he did but for making us laugh until we cried and bringing some humor into the world. God is supposed to be forgiving, If he can then why don't some of you.
Rest in Peace Mister Carlin, you deserve it.

359. He was incredibly knowledgeable and taught me a lot about being a cynic and looking past what seems to be obvious. The comments on here that are sending messages to Carlin after he's dead really crack me up. Watch the specials of his concerts they are showing on the HBO channels and then learn more about his religious/death beliefs. I won't use his language on talking to the dead. I don't mean to insult, I just finished watching him do a whole rant on it.

360. Regarding the question of how he died. I just saw the interview with him on the Actor's Studio. He had three prior heart attacks, each 9 years apart. He also never hesitated to admit that he did a lot of drugs earlier in life. He was probably genetically prone to heart disease since his Dad's 1st heart attack killed him when George was a little boy. With his views on death I wouldn't doubt a DNR was in place, but I have no idea. His heart may have been just too damaged from the abuse it had previously taken for doctor's to keep him alive, and he was up in years. I can't find any doctors' statements on what transpired between when he went into the hospital in the afternoon with chest pains and then died in the early evening.
