Hulk's Own Charity Throws in the Towel

The charity that Hulk Hogan fronts -- and that Nick Hogan once worked for -- just had to pull the plug on their big Fourth of July event because ... well, take a wild guess.
Hulk Hogan
The Freedom Group just 86'ed the 2008 "National Wave" -- which apparently involved a bunch of people across the country waving towels in unison at 9:00 PM on July 4 -- and blamed the Hogans. "We didn't want people entangling us into some soap opera," said Sean Chumura, one of the guys who set up the Wave, to the Beaver County (Pa.) Times. Chumura, you may remember, testified on Nick's behalf at his sentencing.

As for the Hogans, they tell TMZ, "We remain very supportive of The National Wave and look forward to participating in the event."

Hogan's manager, Darren Prince, tells TMZ Chumura and the Freedom Group "believe and love Hulk and decided it would be best to postpone the event." Also, he says the "soap opera" Chumura referred to was the "media and paparazzi that would show up purely to ask about his personal life and not the event at hand."

61. Seriously, TMZ, you need to have registration and unique names.
I still can't believe that the Brooke Hogan show is still on the sked, come on. I'd rather eat glass that contribute to anything this family wants to be a success.

62. PLEASE TAKE SOME MEDS!! FlBiker and I have not posted all this nonsense. The regulars are smart enough to figure this out. Sorry you miss us but try and walk away from the computer and ENTER the real world. The real world really isn't so bad. Take care RoughDaddy, I like FlBiker have really had it with all this nonsense. Life is good, my Dad went home and is in full remission for the moment. Kids are great, it is hot as heck here, and summer is in full swing. Very busy, and hate to come to this site and see you this EFFED UP!!! Sweet dreams guys, bee well...

63. Ok let me get some twinkies and ho ho's so I can stuff my fat face while I make fun of everyone else. Then i will pretend to come back later on and act like I did nothing wrong! Hmmmmm

64. I always post anonymously now, it's the way to go. Ironically enough, I was forced into it by FlBiker coming on and pretending to be me. While I agree it's not biker doing all this posting, he's still a jerk just the same. Why do you people really care that someone's mocking him?

65. Why do some care what the fake name users are doing, just ignore them. The reason I started writing today is because people are blaming the victim and hes doing his time in the hospital for the rest of what they call a life. People are saying Hulks son
shouldn't be responsible because he's 17. Look at the video again of John, look at the car. I honestly hate to talk negative but i also hate for a person in such suffering "John" who can't speak for him self to be blamed. Think about if it was your brother on the passenger seat, your son, your dad, your boyfriend who could no longer speak for him self.

66. I like to stick my finger up my butt while i dream of RoughDaddy and post as FIBiker . It really turns me on. And folks remember what I said that I would come back and pretend I did nothing wrong?? You see I always pretend I am the victim here! But the truth is I like to make fun of everyone and when the tables are turned I am a victim. Ok RD i will play with myself thinking about you tonight!

67. Nick Hogan's crime is a DUI and drag racing, anyone else who "chose" to participate in that has to retain fault for their own actions.

He deserves time for driving under the influence and for illegal street racing, how many years should that be?

However his passenger made the mistake of participating in that event and not even wearing a seatbelt, he too has his own blame.

He drank as well and willingly participated in an illegal action, that has unfortunately doomed him to no QOL from now on.

It's sad, but he is equally responsible for this outcome.

68. In Ontario a person who is driving is not responsible for people 16 and over who choose not to wear seatbelts, the person who isn't wearing the seatbelt will be ticketed. You also are no longer allowed to smoke in ur car if u have children under 16 and a full ban on blackberrys, cells r in the works to be legislated into law. Also, if u r going 50 kilometers over the speed limit u will have ur car towed and receive a fine of up to $10,000....road racing has become a really serious crime here, and the penalties r the strongest in North America.

69. 14. Here is a thought, Hogans can start a charity for John and his family.

WELL SAID KELLI ~~!!!!! I couldn't agree more!!!!

Flbiker - you're a moron! Leave the Hogans alone my behind! Gee, Nick just about killed his so called friend who SERVED THIS COUNTRY (thank you John!!), managed to keep racing (like an idiot) with the support of dear old dad and Nick also managed to get his parents separated/divorced (Though I STILL say that is only for Linda to get HER HALF and after the Civil Suit they'll be back together - this way Linda gets half the money that the Hogans won't lose) and managed to get himself put in jail - but not for long enough. Many drivers kill people, drunk or not, and they SHOW REMORSE! Nick has not shown ONE SHREAD of TRUE remorse for may as well have just killing his so called best friend. That is one selfish family and I have NEVER seen another family in my life THAT SELFISH!!! Me me me - to heck with john. Well maybe losing it all will wake them up.....but I doubt it. Remorse?? Not the Hogans - not a shread.

70. You ARE IGNORANT TO SAY ANY PASSENGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THE DRIVER. Maybe he said hey Nick slow down. You are saying he deserves to be dead. If that is true then every person who has been a victim of a drunk driver or an irresponsible driver who made careless mistakes would deserve to be dead or worse in Johns case. I understand that John should have kept better friends. There would be a lot of people alive today if people would take real responsibility for their own actions, in this case it would be Nick, the Hogan family, and thats it. There was no way John could know what idiots the Hogan family truly is. JOHN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IN ANY EQUAL WAY FOR THE WRECK THAT NICK HOGAN CAUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

71. Thank god you give me hope i agree with you and can't understand the logic of why or how people can blame John. Like you said have no remorse, Your comment is one everyone should read and take to heart, you said it perfectly. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING RESPECT FOR JOHN.

73. In Ontario if a person commits a crime: Racing/ Drunk Driving/Reckless Driving/Speeding, they are charged, not the passenger. The law you mention is a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, a ticket at a ride stop. Not the criminal code charges where we don't blame victims. They don't charge a passenger for not stopping the driver racing, the two are completely separate issues. And anyway, the ER report said John was wearing a seat belt.

74. no matter what the story is behind cancelling The Wave...let's just hope it's the beginning of companies dropping the Hogans. Good God, the idiot Brooke is online trying to sell herself and the mom is following her stalker. Can this family get any crazier. I just could not stand to be a Hogan, realistically, you couldn't pay me enough money to be a Hogan. They are so out of touch with reality and so self absorbed that they deserve the public shunning they are receiving. They should talk with OJ Simpson and ask him how he copes because they will need to know how to deal with being the most hated family in America. Hey Hulk, where's the audio tapes from jail in there entirety so we can get the full understanding of what you were saying to Nick...don't you want to dispute the snippets that revealed your family for what they really are, or are you willing to: as you say "been unfairly judged because of a few well chosen snippets"..let's hear the whole thing..Hey Brooke put it online, all 26 hours and sell it..I am sure you can make some money that way and when you do..donate it to the deserving Grazianos..
