Hulk's Own Charity Throws in the Towel

The charity that Hulk Hogan fronts -- and that Nick Hogan once worked for -- just had to pull the plug on their big Fourth of July event because ... well, take a wild guess.
Hulk Hogan
The Freedom Group just 86'ed the 2008 "National Wave" -- which apparently involved a bunch of people across the country waving towels in unison at 9:00 PM on July 4 -- and blamed the Hogans. "We didn't want people entangling us into some soap opera," said Sean Chumura, one of the guys who set up the Wave, to the Beaver County (Pa.) Times. Chumura, you may remember, testified on Nick's behalf at his sentencing.

As for the Hogans, they tell TMZ, "We remain very supportive of The National Wave and look forward to participating in the event."

Hogan's manager, Darren Prince, tells TMZ Chumura and the Freedom Group "believe and love Hulk and decided it would be best to postpone the event." Also, he says the "soap opera" Chumura referred to was the "media and paparazzi that would show up purely to ask about his personal life and not the event at hand."

94. #11 & #94.......

I AGREE TO SOME EXTENT. BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS -----WHY DID JOHN NOT TAKE AWAY THE KEYS? WAS HE JUST AS INTOXICATED AS NICK? WAS HE THE ADULT? WAS HE WEARING A SEAT BELT? I AGREE THAT NICK COULD HAVE INJURED OR MAYBE KILLED MORE INNOCENT LIVES, THAT IS WHY JOHN SHOULD HAVE STOPPED HIM. WHAT IF JOHN WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED THIS ACCIDENT. WOULD WE ALL BE CALLING HIM A HERO THEN? WE ALL COULD POINT FINGERS AT NICK, BUT, LET'S THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE PASSING JUDGEMENT ON THIS KID! I HAVE 2 BOYS ABOUT THE SAME AGE AS NICK AND WOULD TOO BE DEVISTATED JUST AS MUCH AS LINDA AND TERRI FOR WHAT HAPPENED. ANY PARENT WOULD. I ALSO FEEL SORRY FOR THE GRAZIANO'S ABOUT JOHN'S CONDITION.

96. 44. I find it funny that everyone blames a teenage boy for the actions of a grown man...the passenger in that vehicle was an adult, with military experience.

Yet he got willingly into a vehicle with a kid essentially, knowing full well they were going to drag race and then doesn't even elect to buckle himself into the car.

Why is this the kids fault?

Posted at 10:17PM on Jun 23rd 2008 by Asuigeneris1

--------

Are you kidding me???? DUHHHHH maybe the fact that Nick was DRIVING RECKLESSLY WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE makes it his fault. Just an idea but usually the DRIVER is reponsible, not the passenger.

Driver - has control of those little footpedals and that steering wheel thing

Passenger - has no control over the operation of the car

If little Nicky was not old enough to do the time he should not have been given a license. He and Daddy both signed on the dotted line that he was all grown up enough to handle the responsibility when he got his operators licesne. Now you think he is too young to be held responsible??? Not quite. He played and he and daddy will pay.

Great defense to the judge at the civil case though. "If it please the court, I am a horrendous driver. John is at fault for being in my car. He should have known better. Please send me home without me paying a red cent despite the fact that after 4 tickets in less than a year I was speeding, strreet racing on wet roads while under the influence of alcohol. I have no responsibility here whatsoever. Please allow me to continue to be the irresponsible person that I am by not making me accountable for my actions. After all none of this was my fault. My daddy said so and he even thinks this accident and John having a large chunk of his brain removed makes him a better person. Hey, when you think about it II did John a favor by making him a better person, him being in a permanent vegatative state and all. Please let me go and continue my "precision driving career" without any civil penalties. Thank you."

**********************************************************************

Yes, by all means, JOHN should have taken the keys away. JOHN should have stopped Nick, because, as we all know, JOHN was Nick's PARENT!!! Hey, wait a second, that would be TERRY and LINDA BOLLEA, wouldn't it. The two lowlife so-called parents who DRAG RACED with their MINOR CHILDREN. The same PARENTS who bought Nick a 400hp race car, AND GAVE HIM THE KEYS, when he was ONLY 14 YEARS OLD!!! But JOHN sould have stopped Nick??? What about TERRY taking the keys away since HE was the co-owner of the car, since HE purchased the car, since HE was in the car WITH Nick last September when Nick was stopped TWICE in the SAME day for driving OVER 100 mph. Gee, I wonder why TERRY, his FATHER, didn't take the keys away since HE WAS RESPONSIBLE UNDER THE LAW TO DO SO. And while we're at it, I wonder why TERRY the ADULT OWNER of BOTH CARS didn't take the keys away from Danny as well, whom TERRY also knew had a history of speeding. This attempt at PR spin by these infantile posters is pathetic. Brooke (I know you obsessively read these posts), tell your father he is wasting his money on this crisis managment firm. Pay ME and I will tell you what your hillbilly family needs to do to stop the PR bleeding. The current campaign is laughable. Terry, if you don't start making some viable PR changes soon, John's mother won't be the ONLY one homeless.

100. Well, we are beginning to see the symptoms of our society's breakdown , deterioration and rapid falling into a deep pit. When people cannot even be objective or sensitive for others' misfortune. It's been said before, Nick is a teenager and John had free will to get into the car and not buckle up. Teenagers do these kind of things all the time all over the planet. It was and always will be an ACCIDENT (meaning...Not Intentional)....Also, you either forgot or just ignorant of the fact that John was like a son to the Hogan's.. He basically lived with them at their Bellair mansion. They paid for his car payments and insurance while he was away. They provided a really nice condo (and much more ) for John's mother when her husband (John's father) abandoned them as so many men and fathers do to the ir families they create... What more would you do if this were happening to you and your family.???. I suggest you look into the mirrow and be careful what you say and how you judge others.... for one day it will surely come back on you and others will be harshly judging you too. God Bless this Hogan Family, John and his family and God Bless us all from the decay that is being inflicted on us by many means...

101. But for the grace of God and his seatbelt, Nick Hogan could be in ths same shape as John G. Also Nick can thank his lucky stars that he wasn't in court for manslaughter!!!

102. Jaded

The judge in the case, who had a lot more information than you do, disagrees with you. That is why Nick got jail time. It was not an accident. It was inevitable. let's face it it was not the first, second, third or even fourth time in less than a year the kid was driving like that, and that is only the times the cops caught him. If it had been the first time he got caught doing something like that of course the penalty would not have been that severe but it is clear his parents were more than condoning his behavior, they were encourageing it.

Sure most teenagers do stupid things but most of them do not have Mom and Dad to encourage that behavior. Most NORMAL parents would not take their kids street racing, tell them how cool it is to street race and avoid the cops, buy their 14 year old a 400 HP car or say it is ok for my kid to drive 115 mph on a public road. They would not let their kid drive after getting four speeding tickets in less than a year and they would not buy their underage kids alcohol. But we are talking responsible normal adults, which clearly the Bolleas are not. And that is just their behavior before the accident. Let's not even get into the diarrheal discharge coming from their mouths after the fact.

The Bolleas did not parent their child. If the parents cannot get Nick to understand his behavior is not acceptable the state will step and do so.

Oh and the Pinellas County jail is not exactly Alcatraz or Devil's Island for pete's sake. It's jail, not the Ritz Carlton. You aren't suppose to have a facility that makes the inmates want to come back. If he is freaking out there wait until he gets to Stark. 5 years is a long to be on probation little Nicky.

104. Here is what I think. I am a 33 year old man that has been a of Hulk Hogan since 1/23/84 & still am. I agree that what happen to John is sad but lets not forget that he was the one not wearing his seat belt & also how do we know that he also wanted to race also, Even tho Nick was the one driving but when you are with your friends they do encourge us to do dumb things. So dont place the all the blame on Nick cause we dont know what John said to Nick in his car in a matter of fact the only people that does are Nick & John. The only resson why you people are putting all the blame on Nick cause he is famous & also the son of a famous person. GOD BLESS NICK & also I will be praying for you even tho I dont know you personly.
