Malibu Surf & Turf War -- The Rematch

Private security was hired to patrol the beach where Matthew McConaughey surfs -- but that didn't stop another brutal beach beatdown from taking place yesterday between a band of violent locals and the paparazzi.

After a beachgoer chucked a beer bottle at one of the paps on the shore, an all-out brawl took place by the water -- ending with some badly busted-up faces and a lot of ruined camera equipment.

Though the L.A. County Sheriffs Department eventually showed up, no arrests were made.

64. Paps/TMZ, it's karma, baby. You've been pretty violent and vile yourselves at times, so if you're looking for sympathy, you won't find it here. The argument that celebs somehow deserve to be harrassed 24/7 doesn't fly here.....the 'locals' aren't celebs and have every right to fight to be left alone.

66. I'm against violence and people taking the law into their own hands but it's obvious these paps were looking for a fight. I didn't see a single celeb in the group being taped. What is the paps excuse for standing on the beach filming normal people? What was their goal?

68. I don't blame the locals at all, some ppl in cali aren't there for stardome....and i would hate to see paps everywhere I go....instead of deer crossings in cali they have paparazzi crossings. Could you imagine needing to be somewhere and the paps are out in the highway surrounding a car infront of you! Even at the beach.....why do they have to get right up in a persons face? For safety reasons, if they choose to be a box snapping life ruining pap, they need to keep a distance.

69. And so it begins! Celebrities can't do anything about the paps but try to ignore them, or their picture will be splashed everywhere with negative press. As we can see by TMZ, poor Jessica Alba does nothing but ignore the vampires and TMZ bleats that she's depressed because her movie tanked. It's time for the American spirit to take over and take care of these leeches ourselves. Sure, some people may have to sit in the pokey for awhile, but they'll be martyrs and that's not bad.

70. BRAVO to the surfers! it just goes to show that average citizens are getting sick and tired of the paparazzi taking over every public place with their cameras - stepping on and over people, pushing them out of the way - just causing an over-all disturbance. BRAVO, surfers. BRAVO!

73. It is outrageous that the paparazzi is allowed to just go around stalking others, and trying to raise cane for a buch. Why dont the police arrest the paparazzi if for nothing else, disturbing the peace! I find it interestnig they show up the next day to where they know they are not wanted. Can you say setup?

I am believing more and more that paparazzi are about the lowest that you can get. They are eternal stalkers, that care less about the rights of others. Something needs to be done about the paparazzi.

I applaud the surfers for at least trying to control these vermin, since the police obviously can't or won't.

74. WHY DOES THIS AMAZE ME??! PAPS STILL NOT LEARNING THEIR LESSON AFTER GETTING THEIR BUTTS KICKED THE FIRST TIME AROUND. GOTTA KEEP GETTING THEIR EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT SMASHED AND THEIR FACES BLOODIED TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND THEY WILL NEVER LEARN.
