Crazy Drunk Cher Fan a Little Too Zealous

Don't you know you can't touch the Cher! An overzealous fan got a little too close for Miss Thing's comfort early this morning in Nashville, and cops took him down.
Click to read the Documents!
Cops say 36-year-old Calvin Houghland was drinking a bit too much last night at some place called "The World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge" when he started harassing Cher and, at one point, tried grabbing the 62-year-old diva. More importantly, what the hell was Cher doing at The World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge?!

That's when cops kicked Houghland out of Tootsies, telling him to get lost. He was arrested around 1:00 AM after he kept going back to the club. He's been charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, and is currently cooling his heels in the slammer awaiting release on $3,000 bond.

UPDATE: Thanks to our legal and business affairs department, we are now aware that Tootsies is some sort of legendary country dive. Our bad.

19. East Londoner -- Europeans are the best when it comes to praising substandard talent. I would guess that Cher is just as, if not more, likely to sell out a stadium in Europe as she is here. And what about David Hasselhoff? That guy is praised for his "singing" across the pond, but virtually ridiculed to self deprecation here in the states. I won't even get into how a washed-up band from 30 years ago will sell out HUGE venues in Europe, while being lucky to play a 50-person bar here in the states (Krokus is a case-in-point). What I also find rather funny is the English people's emulation of traditional American music. Pray tell, if your stuff is so superior, why are there so many British bands (especially) ripping off the American bluegrass and country sound? Do they lack talent, originality, or all of the above?

You can take your false sense of superiority and attempt to sleep better at night, but you can rest assured that while you lavish money and praise upon OUR substandard talent, our substandard talent is laughing all the way to the bank with your money.

As for "laughing stock of the world," at least people care about our nation. The only time someone gives Britain a whit of a thought is when a foreigner is looking to buy out your businesses. Who owns MG? Jaguar? Aston Martin? It must be tough living in a former empire that is struggling now to find a national identity.

I hope you like your next "Gunther" CD.

20. Cher in Nashville? so is she thinking of going country? lol

21. Tootsies is the lamest bar ever. It is always packed and stifling, the drinks are WAY overpriced, and the bartenders are always bitches. I can only hope it was a very different scene back in the day when the greats like Hank Sr hung out there.

22. You are all stupid. Cher is a living legend. She is the top current act in Vegas. She is the number 1 female singer on tour, you cannot count Madonna, cause she cheated by selling her concert tickets for over $300. Cher is the only female recording artist to have a top 10 hit for the past 4 decades, 60's, 70's, 80' 90's. She has won a Grammy, Emmy, and an Oscar. So she is talented, unlike Madonna, who can't act! So us life long Cher fan's realy don't give a _uck what you haters think. People have always been saying Cher has no talent, and is over with, but somehow she keeps going with hit after hit. Her current stint in Vegas proves her long lasting power. Some of today's stars or star wanna be's only wish they had the same.

23. East Londoner I sure hope you are actually in London when you wrote that comment because no real American would sit quietly and let you talk like that about our country. And if you are in the USA and you don't like it go back to London if it's so great over there. I don't understand why people from other countries come into ours and then b*tch and moan about how bad it is over here. It obviously wasn't that great where you came from or you would have stay where you were.......

25. My favorite part of reading the posts from other readers is looking at the posters name. LOL The majority of the posts themselves make me sick to read but the names are too funny.

Brattus Rattus = I adore rats and have five little ratties at home and they are all brats.

Keep the names coming! Priceless.

27. You guys need to get a grip on Cher Though, I do question is she on break from her concert in Vegas??? Kind of figured Cher would like country since her mom is from Arkansas and Cher was in TN a few times while on her farewell tour.

28. If you have never been to Tootsies, you ain't been to NASHVILLE, TN. There have been so many Country Stars that have stood on the stage at Tootsies and sang, and so many that have NOT, I personally have a friend that has stood on the stage at Tootsies and sang with the house band. Tootsies is an awesome place. But if you really wanna see the celebraties that hang in Nashville go to the Stage on Broadway, you can see any one that is anyone any time.

hell Yea, NASHVILLE< TENNESSEE ROCKS!

29. No #8...Right On!!! As an American who spent several years in London, I couldn't agree with you more. And as far as being the laughing stock of the World, that is so true. Just imagine what a laughing stock America will be when Barack "Hussein" Obama is elected President!!!

30. East Londoner

After reading Pat Buchanans new book Churchill, Hitler and The Good War. I now realize I have idolized what was really a half wit coward in Churchill. Turns out he was a shill. If it wasnt for our Country, yours would be speaking German. We had to kick your ass one time, dont make us do it again. Now get back to your Amy Winehouse CD and your Islamic neighbors. Your country's most popular birth name for new born boys is now Muhammad.

Have a nice time in IslamLand.
