20. That is absurd! What is her contribution to the rearing of their children? Is he expected to bear the total cost? That seems really unfair regardless of how much he makes, how inconsequential that amount is to him, or the lifestyle they have become accustomed. If she wants her children to maintain a wealthy lifestyle then she should become wealthy. If she can’t, well then that is just too bad. At least they will have a life of privilege when they are with their father.

Our child support system sucks! It is unfair and too oppressive. Child support should be determined by the lesser earning parent. Figure out what they will realistically contribute and have the greater earner match that if they spend NO time with their kids. If they spend a quarter of the time with their kids then that amount should be half, and if physical custody is 50/50, then no child support should change hands. Parents are jointly responsible for their children, not just the parent that makes more money.

30. I really don't get this. I understand if the mom is broke and the daddy is filthy rich. I firmly believe that the child should have the same lifestyle as their wealthiest parent.
