Ru$$ell: How Much Do You Love Your Kids?

They say you can never put a price on love: how's $480,000 a year sound?

TMZ has obtained documents in the Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons divorce case. The docs, filed yesterday in LA Superior Court, say the hip-hip pioneer has to shell out $20k a month -- per daughter!!! -- in child support to Kimora.

And he's got to keep doing so until 2019 for Ming Lee and 2022 for Aoki.

46. Baby Phat produces some of the tackiest clothing I have ever seen. Kimora better be lucky that Russell helped her start that line, because no matter how fugly it is, people have obviously bought into it.

Good going, Kimora.

47. Right now with that number it just proves that Britney is screwing K-Fed over, he should be getting a lot more money but because Britney is a woman she doesn't have to pay as much as Russel. It's not right how people are treated differently based on their gender.

What's fair is fair, you can't tell me there is that big a difference between what Russel has and what Britney has in actual assets. Not to justify a $25,000 a month difference in child support.

50. To Bird,

I want to address what you wrote "I firmly believe that the child should have the same lifestyle as their wealthiest parent. ". Why do you believe this? That lifestyle is at the expense of the greater earning parent. Isn't that punishing hard work and successes by forcing them to pay for the lavish lifestyle of their child and their child's mother? Also, isn't it rewarding a lack of successes by providing a salary for having a child?

I can hear it now, Guidance councilors all over the Country giving the advise to teenage girls that instead of studying hard and becoming a doctor or lawyer, they should just get knocked up by somebody that did study hard. This way they can not only make somebody else responsible for their wellbeing, but not have to put in any hard work to achieve that.

51. #11 - YOU have the totally RIGHT idea. I think that would be awesome for all of that to go to charity. Kimora probably makes as much money as Russell does with her fashion (if you can call it that) line. I think there are too many kids out there whose daddies don't pay a dime. Send that money to a different state each year and let it go to buy all of their school supplies and clothing to wear to school for the kids whose daddies are delinquent on child support. Hey, it's just an idea and their Precious Little Princesses won't suffer one bit by doing without that $40K a month.

52. i dont think thats a crazy amount considering how much money he makes. and its not like she doesnt have her own multi million company herself. they live a fabolous life style and so should their kids. and isnt it the judges job to set the amount based on income?! shes no gold digger shes just a woman who married a rich man and now shes rich and has a life style to keep up

53. I agree with #s9 & 12. Look at the lifestyle those children were born into and enjoyed during the marriage--a ridiculously large home with outdoor AND INDOOR pool, the movie theater, marble this and that, chefs, drivers, etc...Russ 's income was largely responsible for that.

Divorce/child support laws ensure the child (and wife) maintain the same standard of living to which s/he's accustomed.

$40,000/mo sounds VERY REASONABLE given his level of affluence/income.

54. @BIRD, Why should he play hardball with his children's welfare? To a lot of men, it's not about the money. They're more than happy to provide for their children. They sleep more comfortably knowing that they remain strong providers FOR THEIR CHILDREN.

If he's not complaining, WHY THE HELL SHOULD WE???

We shouldn't hate on Kimora because we have to get up and go make the donuts to provide for our children. Maybe we should've chosen wealthier , established hubbies instead of opening our legs to the first guy who told us we were cute or the aspiring rapper. (And, NO, I'm not insinuating that this is your situation. Just making a point.)

The $40,000 he pays per month based on his ability is the same as the $400 a lot of our ex-husbands must pay. THEY'RE IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE. Let's not confuse our reality with theirs.

@MARK, Please don't be so daft.

If my millionaire father married my young beautiful mother, who worked as a waitress. I should DEFINITELY live the lifestyle benefitting of a millionaire's child. Who would argue that my minimum wage earning mother should simply do the best she can to provide for me while my dad lives an opulent lifestyle?

Men know that the women they're getting involved with are financially inferior and gladly take on the responsibility as provider. That responsibility rightfully extends to the child whether Mom makes $10/hr or $10 million/year.

In no way would guidance counselors recommend foregoing studies for backstage passes to compete with other groupies. How in the world your logic took that leap confounds me greatly.

58. JAYDEE,
Who are you--or #11--to tell another person how to spend the money they worked hard for to provide for THEIR OWN CHILDREN????

How would someone like the suggestion that perhaps some of that $200 they receive/month be sent to starving children in other parts of the world who don't have the luxuries we take for granted in this country? You'd be UP IN ARMS!!! Tax deduction, be damned!!!

It's not the fault of the Simmons' girls that other 'men' do not take care of their children or that women spread their legs and allowed themselves to become impregnated by these men.

If anything, perhaps they can travel to different states and talk to young men about how much better they'd be able to provide for their families if they would first educate and establishing themselves before making babies they can't afford. Advising them to marry first might also be a great message.

Oh, but then people would be up in arms about the fabulously rich Simmons talking down to poor folk.

59. Kimora Lee Simmons proves that money can by neither taste nor class. The kids would be so much better off if Russell had custody of them.

60. When she dressed up for the wedding and he and his possee dressed down, the handwriting was on the wall for these two. I thought they made a weird couple and it turns out I was right. He married her for her beauty and body and she married him for his money. They both got what they wanted so what's the big deal? He got laid and she got paid. End of story.
