Supermodel Dies After Nine Story Plunge

A Kazakh supermodel who appeared on the cover of Vogue and Elle magazines fell to her death from the ninth floor of her apartment building in lower Manhattan yesterday afternoon.

Ruslana Korshunova, 20, was found on Water Street in the Financial District wearing jeans and a tank top, and witnesses, including one who spoke to diaday.com, say they heard a loud noise and then discovered that a body lay in the middle of the street. One witness tells TMZ that he originally thought the woman had been hit by a car.

Cops say they are investigating the incident.

61. wow that's sad, but the story doesn't add up. Something doesn't seem right, I wont buy the story that she leaped out the window I believe that someone threw her out. I read somethere that she got home at 4am maybe the door man saw her get home at that time and her boyfriend said that he dropped her off at 5 a.m. ... Something seem fishy... She didn't seemed stressed so I read.

#48 - When you've spent years of your life trying to drag back from
suicidal depression a family member so inclined, complete with
medications, doctors, shrinks, inpatient therapy, outpatient therapy,
ER visits, involuntary committments, etc. and, the moment you go to
sleep or blink, the person kills themself despite your most desperate
efforts, THEN you can judge the friends and families of suicides.

68. You have no idea it was a suicide. It could have been an accident. She could have been on the railing and fell over. Perhaps had a bit to much to drink and fell. People have fallen from balconies before, this would not be the first.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems a little too strange to all be coincidence. It makes me think of Zoolander where 3 male models died in a freak gasoline accident.

72. Tragedy, a real downer for us all. How could anything be that bad especially with her acces to everything life has to offer. Did she not have a boyfriend and why couldn't he see the depression and help her with it himself or getting her professional people to help her cope. I would have loved to have had the chance to make this gal my princess,,,,,among mllions of other guys! Maybe she was meeting the materialistic ass**** guys at the bar, used by married guys, lied to by her agency or maybe pregnant by some guy who said he didn't want it...she may have thought life was really not worth living and could not find the country boy to rescue her from all this pain. I am certain a week at my log home on a lake and the love of my Golden Retrievers could have turned this gals head around. Such a pity, such a waste, makes me sick.

It is tragic that a young woman seems to have had to battle with something so overwhelming that she had to take her own life. If it was murder, then there is obviously a monster on the loose. My heart goes out to her and her loved ones.
