DMB Sax Player Seriously Injured in ATV Ax

Dave Matthews' sax player has been seriously injured in an ATV accident.

46-year-old LeRoi Moore was on a break between concerts when he was injured riding the rig at his farm outside Charlottesville, VA. He was transported to UVA Medical Center, where he's listed in fair condition.

A statement on the band's website said "Please join us all in wishing LeRoi a speedy and complete recovery."

Jeff Coffin, saxophonist of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, will sit in with the band while he recovers.

17. OMG! Poor LeRoi Moore ! Wait a minute, who is he anyway? Dave Matthews is medioker at best, so why is his sax player news-worthy anyway? Oh well, best of luck to old whats his name. I wish him the best.

18. Uggggh. That's horrible. Definitely sending prayers out to LeRoi, his family and the band. LeRoi is such an incredible talent - just saw the band in June and they are always fantastic. Who is "lz" who lost his house? I hadn't heard about ATV's being so dangerous but it makes sense.

19. My local news station says he was in serious condition but he is now listed in fair condition...the docs at UVA are the greatest! They saved my brother's life.

24. the bands website says he's listed in serious CONDITION and tmz says fair condition....the difference between those CONDITIONS are pretty different. has anyone heard if he's in serious condition as dmb website says or is tmz correct in stating he's in fair condition?

25. TMZ seems to update their site pretty often. I would think that they would be right, or at tleast I hope they are since fair is a lot better than serious!

26. Roi is listed in Fair condition. Dave Matthews Band main site has his updated condition as fair also. So TMZ is right in saying Roi's condition is fair. Let's hope his condition improves even more the next couple of days and he can be released before or on the 4th of July. And that he can re-join the tour by the end of July.

27. Roi arrived to the hospital in serious condition (broken ribs, collapsed lung, hairline fracture of his arm). He has since been upgraded to fair. Iz is Stefan - and his house nearly burned down. The DMB tour will continue, although it will not be the same.
