31. This doesn't make much sense. Doesn't Ed have Medicare and private insurance, ie. Motion Picture Fund? What kind of condition or drugs could require this expense and why did the pharmacy let it go so long? He did mention he'd had a fall (he was probably drunk at the time - he said he didn't want to discuss it on Larry King Live) but other than treatment for that, he appeared to be mentally sharp and there was no mention of a chronic health problem in the family.

37. Aw that is what is great about america. Kick the man down when he can't help himself. When he got hurt he wasn't able to work. The ecomony is bad right now and trying to sell a home is a bad time. When you are old people don't want you around. I never cared for Ed but I feel bad for anyone in his position. Give the guy a break. Why are these places bringing lawsuit to light. Shame, let the man have what pride he has left alone for awhile.

38. I understand how some of you people feel. I am a senior citizen now. I am lower middle class. I live in a very small town and our Pharmacy allows people to charge their medicines. I have done so a couple of times but at the end of the month I pay for them. I lived a long time and I don't think that Ed ever thought he would be in this position. He wants a job not pity. Why do people jump on him because he made some bad decisions in life. During his life I am sure he never asked for a hand out to anyone. I don't think he wants it now. He was on Larry King. He wants to work but no one will hire an old man. Some of you need to show respect for an old man. You will all get there at one time or other. Be greatful by the grace of god you aren't in his shoes. I am old and have a lot of medical problems. I pray everyday that we can at least maintain our way of living. My home needs lots of repairs but I can afford to get them fixed. I don't want a handout or pity. It so happens all I want is good health so I can maintain what we have. It is that simply. So stop and really think friends.

42. I cannot believe that the Mickey Fine Pharmacy would let even God himself run an eight thousand plus dollar bill!! They deserve what they get, which will be nothing if old (literally) Ed files bankruptcy..Think the pecking order is applied to bank ruptcy bills..I just hope old Mickey Fine Pharmacy got their peckers in there ahead of the rest!!

No business person in their right might would let themselves be bamboozled in letting a celebrity run a bill up to almost nine thousand bucks!! No sympathy here..

I wish Ed and his young wife well...but they should have to pay the price like old John Q, blue collar, every day tax paying citizen..The fact he is old (and I am old) shouldn't give him an slack on his debts..This man has made more in his life time than myself and many other Americans could ever dream of..even an eighth of what he has made through the years would still be more than JQ citizen and the old blue collar American could ever hope to make...he has assets..they are just hidden and his crying "pitiful Pearl/Paul" doesn't make me have empathy for he or his wife..Now if it were Larry King with his young wife who has young kids, I might be more sympathetic..but still would cut him no slack either!!!

44. I can't believe an 85 year old has a mortgage! Has anyone else ever heard of something so crazy? The Larry King appearance was a joke. As far as this prescription thing, why doesn't Mr. Nice Guy Jay Leno pay it off quietly?

I think it would be hilarious if someone like Kathy Griffin bought his house for a stea-of-a-deal. She may be a mouthy b*tch, but she knows how to handle her money!
