I am sure the girl who hit her has car insurance, and they will pay all her medical bills, as well as other things. The sad part is Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsey Lohan and the rest of Hollywood DUI players shows that this is a cool thing to do and nothing will really happen to you. I hope now the realize that a DUI is not trendy, but deadly..

18. i jut hope the girl who hit her has cash money! i would be making her pay my bills. it just bugs me that the girl said she didn't know she hit someone! going 40 you would not only hear it you will feel it. i just hope the girl is ok, and she is lucky to have had someone around to stop the girl!

19. The poor girl :-( I hope she sues STK (if that's indeed where the drunk was being served) and sues the drunk driver. I'm sure everyone's lawyering up right now. I just HOPE that Gloria Alread doesn't get hired. I CAN'T STAND HER!!

21. Tmz, Harvey, it is time for YOU to step up to the plate! You had your cameras rolling when this horrific accident happened and God only knows (and he ain't talking) who all you have sold this video to. So, do the right thing and help Lucy out with her medical bills until, the money from her suit (hopefully, she is suing) comes in!!!!
How much money have you made off of this innocent woman? Think about it !

22. She does not need health insurance. She will be covered fully by no fault insurance, which is the car insurance of the car that hit her.

23. As every lawyer learns their first year, A settlement is only as good as the defendant's ability to pay. Look at OJ Simpson. His victim's families are still waiting for the restitution they won in the civil
if the drunk driver doesn't have insurance, money, or assets, the only way to get anything is to put her in jail on work release and garnesh her wages if she has a job, or put her in prison and make her press license plates until she earns enough to pay the restitution to the victim...
No matter which way though, the victim is screwed. Trust me, as the victim of a car accident myself... I've had to pay all of my bills out of pocket PRIOR to settling for my medical bills and pain and suffering. And my bills are going into the hundreds of thousands now, and every doctor wants over $100 a month, and I have at least 5 doctors, plus my personal bills.... but if I don't pay, I get sent to collections even though they'll get their money when I settle with the insurance company. Its an insane, stressful, and financially crippling thing to happen to someone without insurance.
So lets hope to god the girl who hit her had insurance or a really, REALLY good job. And lets hope she gets her license taken away and she gets some serious jail time and not this hollywoodesque in and out crap.
I also hope these hollywood types she's worked for will hear this and help out.
They're always crying that conservatives are 'for the rich' yet they never want to part with their own checkbooks unless its a well publicized charity where people will notice them helping out.
So lets hope they see its someone whose worked with them, and feel its worth helping with a few of the bills.

24. Stinks she got hit and is in the hospital, but I guess it sucks to be her for not having health insurence. As the individual in post #7 states "Most young people don't care about health insurance because they think about cell phones, lap tops and other stuff that seems more important to them. Getting health insurance is probably the last thing on their minds. Partying and hanging out with their buds is more important." Guess she will rethink her priorities.

I'm sure that in her profession Tracey, this young lady would be considered an "Independent Contractor" and therefor would "rent" space from the shop that she is in, and charge her clients whatever she see's fit to charge. With that in mind, with the ability to make as little or as much as she would like, all insurance, taxes, retirement plans, would be up to the independent contractor.

26. Harvey - Why dont you help this girl ? Help her in the lawsuit that she should go get .Thats when all of her rehab is done. Help put the duireck behind bars for a good long time, Or The the girl that hit her should be MADE BY LAW to attend every rehab session , Every doctors appointment for the entire recovery.Let her see what she did . Then pay the bills for it .LA is a mess.Do what you want .

27. Often for Drunk Driver cases, the insurance will not pay for anything and would put it all on the driver shoulders. If the drunk driver has an property, the victim should file a lien against her assets. The drunk driver could lose everything and also have her wages garnished for the rest of her life.

i am sure that drunk bitch will have to pay all her bills, but just goes to show how effed up our country is about medical insurance--that damn agency should be giving her benefits! research shows that people who don't receive benefits through work are HIGHLY unlikely to get their own health insurance....

30. Geez while this is indeed a sad situation. I believe what happened is horrible. I don't think we needed to see what happened to her, thay (camera people) could've covered her up or could've not kept the camera on her. I think it's disgusting. Don't give credit to TMZ for what they did. This is sensationalism at it's best people. I think it's great that we come together to try to help someone, but unless the mercedes driver is not insured all her bills will be paid for and no need to ask for donations or help from any celebrities to do anything about her medical bills. It's been 24 hours so we already know there's a police report out there find out if the mercedes driver has insurance, it's public knowledge now. Give your money to other charities where you can really make a difference, this situation will be taken care of financially.....move on nothing to see here.
