Madonna and Guy Want You to Buy the Hype

Never forget -- Madonna is the master at using the media to her advantage, and the current are-they-or-aren't-they divorcing drama is no different. Now we're hearing Guy and Madge's peeps have been planning this for months, hoping the hubbub will sell more tickets to her upcoming tour.

Well-placed sources tell us the Ritchies plan to officially split in November or December -- after the Mrs.' upcoming "Sticky and Sweet" world tour. Why? Big bucks. The concerts are expected to earn close to $300 mil worldwide, and they've decided to ear mark that to provide for their three children's future.

And it gets better ...

There is a whole PR strategy that has been in place for some time. We're told the Material Girl will be "very visible" in the months leading up to the tour to "generate a lot of publicity." That's when "news" of the marriage's demise would slowly leak out, causing tongues to wag -- and Madonna to be on the cover of papers and mags around the world.

The marriage, we're told, has been effectively over for some time. The couple are friends, and have realized that it is in both of their interests to make a pile of cash from this tour. No working things out here -- our spies say rumors of reconciliation are "garbage." One person told us, "She is simply playing the media -- and the public -- as usual."

16. You could throw all the money in the world at those kids and they would still be screwed for life.

This is what happens when self-absorbed narcissists become parents. The kids suffer the most.

You can see it happening even now. The reason Lourdes still has a pronounced and embarrassing unibrow is not because she is too young to pluck or wax, it's because her slag of a mommy needs to have a daughter who isn't beautiful because mommy can't handle the competition.

Let's pray that peri-menopause has rendered the attention whore infertile.

18. I am not surprised. When this first came out, I thought "there she goes again!!!" I have NEVER been a fan and, quite frankly, don't care about her personal or professional life. She is absolutely the worst singer but the best self-promoter in the history of show business. The story about her robbing the cradle with ARod is disgusting. No wonder his wife left him - after being with that old tramp, who knows what he will bring home....YUK.

Good luck to Ritchie, here's hoping that he makes a fortune and never has to work again.

As far as she is concerned, I will continue not to buy anything she promotes. She is such a low-life.

19. You know, I will not be going to her concert, she is nothing but a manipulator and if whe is using the public and her fans like this then everyone should boycott her concerts and record sales. Shame on her and not ruining the marriage of someone else for her own selfish career.

20. Seriously, who can afford concert tickets these days?? Her fan base pretty much consists of trannies at this point, she's gone the way of Cher. Yeah, she might look good for her age, but she's still too old for this stuff and not worth the expense. Madonna is a smart lady and shrewd businesswoman....she should realize that it's time to retire, its like beating a dead horse....when I see her trying to be provocative or appeal to the kids, it makes me want to throw up.

21. If Madonna thinks this will make people want to go see her concert, she is sadly mistaken. If anything, it would turn them away. Who wants to see a concert where the performer cares absolutely nothing about their fans being betrayed; all they care about is money!

22. This is a good thing for Guy Ritchie...he should distance himself from Madonna as much as possible, she ruined his career by insisting on being in one of his movies. What has he done since?? He is really talented, I hope she hasn't sucked him dry.

23. Madonna rocks. We should all be so talented. Clearly, those that put her down do not like themselves. Get some therapy people.

29. I always find it interesting that a "well placed source" or a "close friend" always is the one who clues the tabloid media (i.e., TMZ) in on this crap - While we are at it, a well placed source tells me that TMZ gets all of it "news" from Rosanne Rosanna Danna.......
