Madonna and Guy Want You to Buy the Hype

Never forget -- Madonna is the master at using the media to her advantage, and the current are-they-or-aren't-they divorcing drama is no different. Now we're hearing Guy and Madge's peeps have been planning this for months, hoping the hubbub will sell more tickets to her upcoming tour.

Well-placed sources tell us the Ritchies plan to officially split in November or December -- after the Mrs.' upcoming "Sticky and Sweet" world tour. Why? Big bucks. The concerts are expected to earn close to $300 mil worldwide, and they've decided to ear mark that to provide for their three children's future.

And it gets better ...

There is a whole PR strategy that has been in place for some time. We're told the Material Girl will be "very visible" in the months leading up to the tour to "generate a lot of publicity." That's when "news" of the marriage's demise would slowly leak out, causing tongues to wag -- and Madonna to be on the cover of papers and mags around the world.

The marriage, we're told, has been effectively over for some time. The couple are friends, and have realized that it is in both of their interests to make a pile of cash from this tour. No working things out here -- our spies say rumors of reconciliation are "garbage." One person told us, "She is simply playing the media -- and the public -- as usual."

61. I think that Madonna and Britney and hell even Paris Hilton should all go on tour together. We could call it the Final tour since 2 of them are has beens and 1 was a never was. I do give Madonna some credit, as I remember she was the one who scamed the hell out of Pepsi back in the day.

62. This sounds like a bunch of bull since rumors of divorce and infidelity don't make concert tours sell. Madonna has never had trouble selling out her tours and that appears to be the case again. Try again TMZ.

This is not about money, this is about ego and still being relevant...Madonna loves the fact that people are still talking about her...She knows she is way past her prime and yets still needs validation, and by everyone talking (good or bad) makes her relevant (in her mind)..If the media stopped talking about her, then she wouldn't matter and her ego wouldn't be able to handle it. Its an addiction...If you think about it is similiar tolike most people who want to be famous....like at all the no talented people that get reported on these sights...its Ego..Well thats my take on it anyway...

66. To all the people out there that say she is a "has been" or has "no talent" let's not forget she was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. I don't think they just let any old has been off the street be inducted...and also...if you have nothing good to say about her why are you even wasting your time reading about her?

67. This may bring publicity but I can't imagine how it would pull in more people to her concert. She should retire already. Doesn't she have enough money?? These celebrities seem to be searching for some meaning in life. Why don't they give more and do more for charitable organizations here in the US and abroad. Then they can feel like they've really done something with their lives.

Please tell me what great rock and roll songs Madonna has contributed?? Hmmm??? Crickets...as I thought. I think getting into the R&R HOF is likened to getting (buying) a Hollywood star! 73. I'm sure it's all a publicity stunt. Anyone who believes all the rumors about A-Rod are just fueling the fire. She probably decided to use him as fodder for her publicity machine. She is as manipulative and as conniving as they come. I'm amazed the marriage lasted as long as it did. She is a publicity whore and he knows there's a payday in his future. The truth is that she isn't selling the records like she used to and her touring days are numbered. Personally, I think she looks rather haggard and grotesque.

74. I can't believe how many people HATE Madonna. People are so effing sexist it's disgusting, even women! Why is everyone hating so much? First of all Kaballah frowns heavily on infidelity and if she follows like everyone says, then that rules out an affair. Did she seduce him without having sex? Yup. Now he's obsessed, listens to her music, watches her DVD's AND he's only 32!!! People hate Madonna because she is a Groundbreaking woman that has a career span of over 25 years.
