He wasn't obligated but making a promise to help family at a time of need and then reniging, disrespecting the deceased in such a profound way by punching a greiving family member a the funeral is unforgiveable. The comments made to a radio station about hating his family are indicative of his actions. Families everywhere support each other in a crisis--financially and emotionally. I am confident that the description of the event is correct given his history of violent outbursts--NY Basketball court where he coincidentially attacked a Shannon. The Game has so much talent/ potential--I hope he doesn't squander it with all of the posturing and mean spirited attacks. This incident has hurt us all not only the family, community but society that celebrates this type of conduct. Hateful meaness is so pervasive from so called leaders like George Bush to media saavy rappers who posture and destroy themselves and those closest to them. Words are so very important and we cannot survive if we continue to use them as weapons--if you are poet/rapper use your talent gift with words to elevate enhance improve lives. Life is so very short, so very fragile we cannot waste another moment hating.

36. I see all the comments are one sided so I’ll add my 2 cents in Game’s defense. I’m sure the family didn’t ask him to pay for the funeral (yeah right). Coming from a person who has “the money” in my family I know how easy it is for the family to expect for you to rescue everybody from their “situation”. If Pooky go to jail they expect for you to come running, Shay Shay getting evicted your phone is ringing or if cousin Shannon dies they want you to pick up the tab. How many of his family members put in more than $100? Probably none! It’s not his fault his cousin didn’t pay her insurance bill.

When my cousin passed away (who I hardly saw) my family automatically started calling me telling me that he didn’t have any insurance. After they made arrangements that cost close to $10k I was told they had only come up with $2k and could I pick up the rest and they would pay me back. Let me point out his brother had 2 new cars with $3k rims on each, a $15K necklace and other items that could have easily been sold to raise cash, but nooooo they expected me to drop $8k. WTF I’m not an ATM.

38. I can't believe how shady our family has gotten. Mimi, Kirky, and whoever else is doing this, know deep in their hearts that NONE of this has anything to do with Shannon!! Because if Shannon were still here, she would be telling you to "leave that boy alone!" Jayceon WAS, nor IS obligated to do anything for anyone except his children. It really makes it look like you guys are money hungry. Jayceon gave a sincere heartfelt speech, basically saying that he wasnt perfect and knows that Shannon would want us to all forgive and forget. In his own way, he was telling us that it's time for us to be a family again. And it's a shame how blind people can be when it comes to money. No Jayceon didn't handle the fight in the best way, but when you are verbally or physically attacked, you are going to react like any normal person would. I love my family to death, and it breaks my heart to see how fast we can turn on one another when it comes to something as petty as money. Money comes and goes, but if you dont have your family, what do you have?? Maybe it's time to think about that, because if the shoe was on the other foot and Kirky was the "famous" one in the family, he would have done the same exact thing! No one even calls Jayceon to see how he is, but are so quick to pick up a phone when they need something. I love my family, and am definetly not choosing sides, but you have to remember, we lost Shannon, which was basically the rock that kept us all together, and WE ALL know that she would be telling all of us that this drama is totally unneessary. Has anyone stopped to think that maybe the reason he has so much resentment towards the family is because everyone just WANTS WANTS WANTS? Maybe you should put ur hands back in your pockets and only take them out when ur ready to reach out to him!!

39. I'm sitting here reading your comments. I find it quite unsetteling that the taylor family has chosen this way to air their dirty laundry. It's funny to hear people talk about "kirky" likes he's some saint that had the unfortunate task of asking Jayceon fr the money that he "volunteered" to give towards the beautiful funeral of his sister Shannon. I read about the unlawful acts that Jayceon's family hs "supposedly" commited, but yet I don't think that I've read anything about "kirky's" criminal lifestyle. As I was leaving the church, I saw "mimi" attempt to talk to her "perfect law abiding son", when he walked away from her yelling "back up off me mimi, back up off me". I walked behind Jayceon who asn't yelling or cursing, now he did hav hs shirt off. but kiky took his black shrt off As far as the whole jayceon family help defend thir son.brother whic one of us wouldn't help our sons orbrothers even if it mean't going up against other family membrs?
I'm so sad that Shannon's gone. The servce was beautiful. And Jayceon's speech was truely felt b me. I'm not a cryer, but his speech (that I feel was sincee) moved me to tears.

42. i was there at the funeral also, the entire truth will come out, and then people will view, georgette, kirky,danielle,treecie.and the others who are in cohorts with her with a different light. i grew up in the same neighborhood with all of the taylors as children .THEIR HOUSE ON 166TH STREET WAS ALWAYS FILLED WITH JEALOUSY, ENVY, AND TRAGEDIES. YOU WOULD THINK THAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS THAT SOMEONE IN THAT FAMILY WOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE CHARGE. GEORGETTE WAS ALWAYS THE underdog in school. No matter how she fixed herself up, she still looked like an ugly boy. The same animosity she had then, she still has as an older adult. A lot of bad things happened in that evil house of doom on 166th street in compton and Georgette, the oldest living sister holds the key and the evidence. QUESTIONS that need to need to be ANSWERED. After reading the comment left by Kirkys sister, it is very obvious that the Taylor family is still divided and for self only like they have been. my mother has been a friend of Mimis over the years. I have heard her over the years talk about her daughter Danielle sleeping with married men after leaving her own husband, and who is now pregnant by god knows who, like mother, like daughter, she has talked about how her son Kirkys wife, she doesnt like and how fat their daughter is and when she comes to visit her, she eats her out of house and home, she despises her daughter Tracy who does not deal with her foolishness,she has talked about her sister in law Alicia and has always accused her of infidelity when she was married to her brother Greg,and how her niece Simones husband ran off and left her and went back to his mama. no one is off limits when it comes to the swift gossiping tongue of this woman. I feel that since she is the oldest in the family, she had the power to mold the younger generation, but instead she chose to keep the drama going by constantly getting in their business.She has talked about the Games mother, sister,brothers, and father,who is her own brother. Her wrath is terrible. She will talk you about to others, and come back and smile in your face. My own mother has since backed away from her because of finding out she doesnt know how to be a friend, Selfish money hungry people dont care about no one else but themselves.My mother and I chose not to go to the funeral, we had already heard through the grapevine that Kirky and some of his cronies from his old crip hood had already planned this. i heard he was supposed to be a pallbearer, and he is his mothers only son, so why did he feel it neccesary to go outside and confront the Game over money when he should have been there for his mother and sisters who were still inside the church. Other people from our old neighborhood were there and that is what they saw. Kirky was always a troublesome kid,and im quite sure it wont take long to see how long his jail record is. The sad part of all of this is that the word FAMILY does not apply to these people. Im so glad my mother chose to get away from MIimi. The only thing she has to worry about now is any of her business she may have confided in her. The old hood is not suprised at this at all,same bull, just different players. The bottom line which everyone seems to forget is that Shannon passed and she was not like this. How sad.
