First, the term 'mad skills' was coined by Jeffrey Sebelia on Project Runway...ya know, the REAL rock n Roll Tatted guy, the ex-junkie...that would scare the bejeezes out of any John Mayer fan so don't be using 'mad skils' to describe John Mayer. And besides, no girlies who listen to John Mayer know anything about guitar skills, they only know he is 'dreamy' and that people SAY he is a talented guitarist! And sorry I sound so agro...but I did find him very amusing and enjoyed his witty way of hadling the press and thought it was funny that he said he and TMZ were garbage and garbagae doesn't destroy other garbage...but then that ginormous talent and brain of his that he always has to point out that he has, goes on to show the magicians trick and the man behind the curtain...the one that says he is playing TMZ to pacify his loser fans who use sites like TMZ to see him and if his fans want to belittle themselves by going to a site like TMZ just to see him walk down to the street to the gym, then he is going to make nice with them as it plays well to his fans. BUT HE IS PUTTING HIS FANS BY SAYING THAT THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE AND SO THEREFORE HE PANDERS DOWN TO THEM! If he would've stopped at the garbage point, he'd have been ok and been funny and self-deptecating. Here he is being arrogant, smug and admitting to be a publicity whore for the sake of pandering down to his fan base! You Mayer fans should be insulted by this nimrod! Hope we can actually see his career as the toilet water flushes it out to sea...

33. I don't get it. John likes to speak ill of himself. I fear that some of his self insults are real. He may not like himself after all. I really don't care. I do like his music, and think he should stick to that and leave the comedy alone. But the big question is why is Jennifer with this man. It seems that she has taken a step down. Maybe not. Jen is really not an A-list star yet. I think she was so funny on friends. She had a very carefree attitude. But I don't know why that is not picked up on the screen. She has not had her "performance" yet. But back to the thread. I don't get her and John. Maybe he is taking care of business very well.

34. This guy thinks he is so smart and witty and that he's Brad Pitt or something with that big ol' melon head. When in fact he is the biggest wannabe hack out there, from his outdated, poser tattoos , his nonsensical blog rants which he thinks make him sound intelligent and artsy when in reality they make him sound like a pathetic wannabe intellectual to his staged photo ops, even the ones that look like he is annoyed that the camera is there. 37. You all amuse me (the haters) how none of you really think for yourselves but merely echo that which has already been written by other morons. Mayer may not be witty but he is talented. Whatever if he didn't write the songs the whole world sings, BFD, neither does Beyonce but I think she has some talent as well, even if her sound is not my cuppa! But again, neither is singer/songwriter 'garbage' - my tastes run a bit harder. You should all back off as he clearly has something, even if it is some form of 'good looks' or that thing called charisma, after all TMZ wouldn't be following him around with the rest of the paps writing about him, photographing 'his big melon head' or talking story about his lifestyle choice if he weren't 'something'... garbage like them or not. Though most paps don't make garbage (and not even the band) famous for longer than their 15 minutes. His Mad Skills may just run towards keeping his name in the spotlight. Oh wait, that IS the job of the famous... if they want to stay famous.

As for Jen - (Debra77) check out her performance in the 'Good Girl' - was a stand out, albeit under rated film. She did a great job.

John does not have low self esteem. He uses these celebrity chicks for easy booty calls and they go along with it; especially Jessica Simpson who is desperate for love since she dumped her hubby. John Mayer is enjoying his fame and he will probably get married someday to a beautiful intelligent female and not some ditzy celebrity. I've dated hot guys knowing I would never want a long term commitment from them because they lacked a lot of things I want in a man. I love John’s sense of humor and he is a very talented sexy man.

44. If John Mayer IS all that...talent and brains...then he will be with
a woman wo opens new worlds to him...someone who actually can expose
him to music HE has never heard before...that would really get his
attention. A woman who just taps her foot and lips the lines to his
music isn't going to hold his interest forever. And #35, you get
kudos for your reference to Garbage, the band. I never said John
doesn't have real talent, but he just says he has talent too much.
But, his taste in music is not my taste. I would like to still
find him witty and amusing but with how much he brags about how smart
he is and how he bagged on his fans...that isn't cool in my book.
And I don't give credit
to anyone who doesn't write their own stuff...sorry. God gives you a
voice, like Whitney Housten. God gives you talent and brains if you
can actually write the songs and perform them, even though your voice
may not be as pitch perfect as Ms. Housten. Just my opinion!!! But I'd
take Carol King Tapestry's CD over anyone else performing any of her
songs, even Aretha! In the words of Garbage, "I tought you were
special, I thought you should know, but I've run out of patience, I
couldn't care less"
