JagWired -- NFL Star Busted for Drugs

Matt Jones, a former number one draft pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was popped early this morning in Fayetteville, Ark. after cops found him sitting in a parked car, "cutting up" a white substance. Wonder what that was??

Cops say they approached the car and found the wide receiver inside, using a credit card to chop up what appeared to be cocaine. Cops drew their guns at Jones after he did not immediately put his hands up.

Also inside the car, police say they found a jar containing possible pot residue and another baggie with a white substance. Jones allegedly admitted that it was cocaine.

Cops arrested Jones and two other passengers in the car.

38. #15 You're f**king stupid. SEC IS BY FAR the toughest conference in the NCAA. Google it you dumb a^s. Plus, Arkansas did not leave the Big 12, it was called the SouthWestern Conference. which didn't included some of the teams that make up the Big 12 now. Loser....

39. Yeah tell them okiefan. Maybe he can hang out with Charles Thompson and ride in one of Rhett Bomar's cars. Oh no he can't. Sorry. I forgot after getting out of jail a week or so ago, he is already back in jail. Nice line of QB's you have there as well.

PS Arkansas didn't leave the Big 12 for the SEC - you idiot. GO Hogs!

40. OMG.....a famous personality getting caught doing drugs!! That is so hard to believe!
Fate hands these gifted people a golden ticket to fame and fortune and then they go and risk losing it all buying and using illegal drugs. Where is the intelligence in that?

41. As a recent graduate from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and a lifetime fan of the Razorbacks this comes as a big let down for the university and the state. Shame on you Matt for throwing away what was God given! I know another home town celebrity who made it big is likely to follow soon in his foot steps.... hope this serves as a lesson.

42. Iam from Arkansas and am a hog fan but this is ridiculus ,most of us can only dream of the opportunities that have been givin to him ,he needs to spend some time in jail and he needs to be kicked off the team, to me he doesn't appreciate anything he has. Maybe he should have to work in a factory and barely make ends meet maybe then he would appreciate his cushy life.

44. The situation is a sad one. Not only is it sad for the fans, his team and his family, but it is also sad for him. You have to think about everybody involved and affected by this situation. I think people mess up and learn from it, so hopefully this will be a learning experience for him. As for people saying it's no surprise bc of where he's from, that's a ridiculous statement. I am from Arkansas and have recently moved to Florida. It doesn't matter where you live or where you're from... People make their own decisions, good or bad, on their own.

45. I was attending the baptist church in which Matt Jones was baptized in. His family attended the Van Buren, AR church. This is a shock..I don't believe Matt was a user when he played for the AR Razorback. It's possible that he got into drugs when he got into the NFL. What a shame for Matt, his family and friends. I pray that he straightens his life out. The people that attended the church said so many good things about Matt.
