JagWired -- NFL Star Busted for Drugs

Matt Jones, a former number one draft pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was popped early this morning in Fayetteville, Ark. after cops found him sitting in a parked car, "cutting up" a white substance. Wonder what that was??

Cops say they approached the car and found the wide receiver inside, using a credit card to chop up what appeared to be cocaine. Cops drew their guns at Jones after he did not immediately put his hands up.

Also inside the car, police say they found a jar containing possible pot residue and another baggie with a white substance. Jones allegedly admitted that it was cocaine.

Cops arrested Jones and two other passengers in the car.

46. I went to high school with Matt in VB and I agree with comment#43, it seems completely uncharacteristic for Matt to be doing drugs. This is not the same sweet person I knew in our teenage years. Matt, you will be in my Prayers that you can get clean and straighen yourself out.

I am sooo sad for matt jones and his family.I am reserving judgement until the true facts are known.Matt Jones is loved and respected in Arkansas.He deserves to be given a chance to tell his version of the story.It sounds as if he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. People can be so cruel when things go wrong!!!!!!!! As usual people can be so judgemental. Remember: HE IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW!!!!!!!!! To me ,he is the best player in the history of ARKANSAS football, and my opinion of him will not change,no matter what. MATT: Just remember,GOD is on your side no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!

53. I was not suprised to hear this news. I'm from Jacksonville and everyone knows Jones as a pot head who doesn't play his position very well anyway. He should have been gone from the Jags a long time ago, so at least now they have a good reason besides the fact that he just plain sucked. Way to go Mattie.
