Mormons Slam Calendar's Missionary Position

Who knew a bunch of shirtless Mormon hunks could lead to so much drama?! Don't get your magic underwear in a bunch!
Mormon Docs: Click to read
TMZ has obtained a letter sent to Chad Hardy, the Mormon creator of the steamy Men on a Mission calendar, by the LDS church -- threatening disfellowship or excommunication for "conduct unbecoming a member." Coincidence? Chad thinks not.

Hot Mormons: Click to launchHardy tells TMZ he believes he's being targeted for the 12-monther -- but admits he doesn't attend church meetings or pay his tithing. He also believes his repentance will include closing up shop on the calendar, which he ain't ready to do. Save me Joseph Smith!

For their part the Church refuses to comment on the whole thing, "out of respect for the member himself."

We're guessing they won't like his next idea either -- Mormon Muffins: A Taste of Motherhood.

UPDATE: On July 13, Chad Hardy was officially excommunicated for "conduct unbecoming a member of the church."

91. Emma-I am not puting, far from it! I am well aware of "free speech" However, there is a big difference between free speech and out and out hate! I suppose you are one of those card carrying free speechers who think that the Klu Klux Clan should be allowed to spew its hate laced profanities? Or maybe we should let all the male chauvinists out there insult and degrade women or better yet how about the anti-gay people, should we let them spew their hate about gays and lesbians? There is a line that should not be crossed on ANY leve, a line where freedom of speech becomes a weapon NOT vehicle for change. THAT line was crossed with the 'magic underwear' statement, if you can't see that then you really are a lost cause.

92. Todd,
If you are so educated on the Mormon church then how come you can't even spell Mormon right? Also, you keep saying fraugh...do you mean FRAUD? What Mormon research are you reading when you can't even freaking spell!

93. "Milk before meat" "sacred/secret" these and many other Mormon slogans are designed to cover up and excuse their lying.

Thank God the Mormon church is losing members instead of gaining.

94. I actually have researched this religion extensively. As I have with other religions also. I have a lot of respect for all religions. You have a right to say no to anyone or anything. That is your right. But have a little bit more respect. You may have researched it, but you probably did with a preset mind on how it is. When doing your research on ANYTHING you have to have an open mind. I know a lot more about this religion and others. Know all your facts before you make yourself look like a bigger idiot.

95. As usual Morons are straining at a gnat , in this case a few typos., while swallowing the crap their so-called church teaches.

96. #53 Angiebaby - I had to laugh out loud at your statements regarding sex! I don't know if that was a joke or not, but thought I might share with you my thoughts as a married LDS person.

Yes... it has been encouraged no sex before or outside of marriage... that in itself is an entirely different topic... but I had to comment on the non-enjoyment of sex and just for procreating. If this were really true, I would have been excommunicated long ago. Our bishop, when talking on this subject old us that God has offered the practice of sex to married couples no only to procreate, but to show our love for our spouse... and my personal take is....sex can be rrrrraaaaaarrrrrrrr!!!!! Yeah, my husband and I have been able to procreate from it, but BELIEVE ME... that was not the reason! I remember our bishop also stating that his questions stopped at the bedroom door, but also gave the advice that if there is anything that our spouses ask us to do, and we feel uncomfortable about it, we have the right to say no. Angiebaby... I have not said no yet!

I told my husband I was writing this comment and that there may be some LDS people out there that might be put off by my comments. He said it was time that we come out of the closet about sex.... or maybe go back into the closet, or in the pool, or on the floor, or in the kitchen.... so, some of us even have a sense of humor about it!

Thanks for posting that, Angiebaby. Hope that brings some things to light. Bt there might actually be some LDS people out there that agree with you, but have no clue why, as that is not the standard or a rule. All I can say is that I pity them and should lend out my husband for a couple of hours!

97. Eliza once again you don't know your facts either. The Morman church has had an incline in members for years. They are currently over 13 million members.

98. How do we know for sure the basis for this letter stems from the calendar? Could be for something else entirely?

Personally as active member of the LDS Church and a returned missionary myself, I don't have a problem with these calendars. Big deal.

My feeling is that there's more to the story than just a calendar.

99. A mormo is an evil spirit that used to accompany the sorceress/goddess Hekate.

God, you Mormons are such idiots.

And you demand respect?

For falling for Joseph's fraud?

Wear your silly garments that won't earn you salvation, Pay your tithes to the old farts in Salt Lake so they can fund their pet building projects.

Just don't tell the rest of us Mormonism is The Truth.
It hasn't got a leg to stand on.

100. Ohcanada, you mean anti-gay people like the LDS leaders? Or did you mean some other anti-gay people? Yes, I think the KKK should be allowed to spew their vitriolic comments. And so should the anti-KKK people. That's what freedom of the press means.

And if you think that Mormons ans blood oaths are not one-and-the-same, then you clearly didn't go through the temple prior to 1990. They removed them about this time. Up until then, they were very much a part of the endowment.

I am a card-carrying member BTW, although my searching, pondering and praying (as admonished by the prophets) has given me the knowledge to see that the church is simply not what it claims to be. Nobody forced me to join, but I was indoctrinated into it since birth. It brainwashes its members by making them too afraid to look for the real truth outside of what they are taught in Sunday School. Go ahead, ask your bishop to explain whether or not the Book of Abraham is an actual translation like Joseph Smith claimed it was. Most likely, your bishop e won't lie, he'll tell you that it isn't because it's been proven that it isn't. He'll try to spin it instead by sayi9ng something mindless like "it's not for us to understand at this time", and tell you to stop looking at "anti" sites because this sort of (true) information will damage your testimony.

Why do I care? I gave 4 decades of my life and thousands of dollars to an organization which I found to be a hoax. Don't I have the right to be a little bitter? Had I been approached as an adult, I never would have joined. Had my parents been approached as adults, they probably wouldn't have either. But waaaay back, several of my ancestors were gullible enough to be duped by this fraudulent cult, and as a result I was brainwashed into believing it most of my life. So, yes, I'm bitter. Deal with it.

101. The idea of "accurate information" coming from the followers of a religion created by a shroom eating criminal run out of his town is amusing.

Tell them about the fun y'all have in temple ceremonies like your wedding where you all whisper your super secret code names to your spouse so you can "find" each other in heaven. Which is handy since women go to second tier :P

102. Your 13 million is an inflated number because they count inactives and keep people on the books for 110 years.

Moreover, the actual activity rate in Mormonism is only 30%.
In Euope it is only 15% and they are closing up buildings.

That means 70% of Mormons don't even show up but are still counted.

The Mormon church is playing a game of smoke and mirrors to make itself look bigger than it actually is. An old business trick.

103. Visit exmormon.org if you want to find out what a freak show the LDS (no, I'm not talking about the FLDS, I'm talking about "mainline" Mormonism) is.

105. This is unbelievable!!! I can't believe how rude and disrespectful people are. No one cares if you are a mormon or not. That is your choice. But why does everyone have to be so rude and hateful? This is why America is falling apart. There is no respect for each other, for any reason.
