A-Rod has the power, but lacks the strength to be responsible. His wife is pregnant andf he should be holding that child. He isn't the most responsible or reliable no doubt.

56. otally dude.., I never said they were well-adjusted as you'd know if you had actually read what I said instead of glancing at it and assuming you knew what I meant. You have no idea why people do the things they do and, in fact, most of them don't either. But you and many other people assume that the only reason any woman would want to pole dance, etc. is because they have low self-esteem. And, BTW, most strippers only spread their legs for their boyfriends just like other women. By your way of thinking all married women must have low self-esteem, not just the ones who marry rich and famous men, since when they get married they are trading sex for the money their husbands make. Unless, of course, they're the ones who make the money in which case the husbands are gigolos. As you can see, reality is never that simple. It's just that people are that simplistic.
As I said earlier, Cynthia may have thought she really loved him and that he loved her. In fact, it may have been true at the beginning. Not all celebrity marriages go south anymore than the average marriage. She may have thought she could make the marriage work. Heck, HE might have thought he could make the marriage work. Obviously, they were wrong.
The problem with you and so many others on here is that you think you know people, their minds, their intentions, etc. when it simply isn't possible.

Susan; in the case of that stripper I think you're right except she probably knew she was being used and refused to admit it to herself. She may even have inflated self-esteem and believed that her charms would persuade ARod to leave Cynthia and marry her instead.

Snotty Snob; You are right for the most part. When parents cheat on their partners, the kids usually know about it even if nothing is ever said. And while you didn't specify, my husband and I have been asked to swing (actually we were asked if we wanted to join a polyamory group) and declined because the idea of doing that makes me feel squicky. It's fine if other people want to but it's not for me.
