Manson Family Member -- Should She Go Free?

Susan AtkinsManson Family member Susan Atkins should not become a free woman, at least if the L.A. County D.A. has his way.

Atkins, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer and may have only six months to live, has applied for Compassionate Release Consideration.

D.A. Steve Cooley says not good enough, noting that Atkins was front and center for the Sharon Tate murders back in '69. Atkins personally stabbed Tate, tasted her blood and used it to write "PIG" on the front door.

Cooley claims Atkins "has failed to demonstrate genuine remorse and lacks insight and understanding of the gravity of her crimes."

Atkins received the death penalty but it was commuted to life after the California death penalty was ruled unconstitutional.

The Board of Prison Terms hearing is tomorrow in Sacramento.

16. Susan Atkins should be shown the same compassion that she showed Sharon Tate and the rest of the victims before she helped murder those people...that would be ziltch...let the last thing she sees in this life be the bars to her cell...

17. she needs to rot in prison. she is evil and neesds to stay in the clink... why should she go free.... sharon tate and the others never had the chance to live ... they are dead and i hope the evil beast rots in hell where she belongs... she will burn in hell when she dies and i am glad....

18. They should have been put to death as originally the desision was but then Calinutt repealed that and gave them life None of them should ever be released no matter what!!

19. Ummmmm, KITKAT......she DID NOT "serve her time".....she was sentenced to "DEATH".....she already got her reprieve when her sentence was commuted from the death penalty to "LIFE in prison" !!!

20. oh and we're supposed to feel sorry for her after what she did? i don't think so! i hope and pray they deny her request and she dies a horrible, lonely, painful death in her cage where she belongs. she and the rest of those freaks can rot in hell in their jail cells.

21. NO WAY. The law sentenced HER TO LIFE IN PRISON, that means she DIES in prison, just because she got what came to her because you know what goes around, comes around SHE SHOULD NOT BE SET FREE. Whats the point then having life in prison sentence. This may be extremely cruel, BUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN CHANGE THE LAW.

26. this is for kikat: she doesn't deserve all that time? pretty scary you have this outlook on someone who cut Sharon Tate's baby from her whom,and you work in the court system? gee, that's comforting.she knew what she was doing. doesn't matter how long ago it was either. people who lived through it remember it like it was yesterday.she's a lowlife piece of crap and she's useless to society. sounds like you're part of the reason we have so many sickos running around.

28. No way. She never showed any remorse for the killings she did. She never thought twice about what she did to Sharon Tate or her unborn son Richard. She does not deserve anyone's sympathy. They all deserve to rot in prison for what they did. I still can't figure out why they never got the death penalty. That was first degree muder and only got life in prisonment for it. Shame on the justice system.

29. I'm appalled that any of those mudderfuggers are still alive. They should all be put out of our misery. They're all crazy, then and now. They said she showed no remorse or sees the gravity of what she did. If they let her out, I hope someone somewhere pops a cap in her lunatic ass because she is likely to do something just a crazy. 30. AND, kitkat.......sorry to keep pickin on you.....BUT, she was PREGNANT for Gods sake !!! That animal not only took Sharon Tate's life, but, ALSO, an innocent, unborn baby !!!! THAT makes her murders even MORE horrific, if murder can get any worse.
