Manson Family Member -- Should She Go Free?

Susan AtkinsManson Family member Susan Atkins should not become a free woman, at least if the L.A. County D.A. has his way.

Atkins, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer and may have only six months to live, has applied for Compassionate Release Consideration.

D.A. Steve Cooley says not good enough, noting that Atkins was front and center for the Sharon Tate murders back in '69. Atkins personally stabbed Tate, tasted her blood and used it to write "PIG" on the front door.

Cooley claims Atkins "has failed to demonstrate genuine remorse and lacks insight and understanding of the gravity of her crimes."

Atkins received the death penalty but it was commuted to life after the California death penalty was ruled unconstitutional.

The Board of Prison Terms hearing is tomorrow in Sacramento.

76. No. She should serve the time she was offered....why would the State let her go free, when her ORIGINAL sentence was death in the first place? Anyone (I don't care how 'brainwashed' you are) who can cut open a pregnant woman, insert their hands, lick said hands, and scribble words on the wall with that person's blood while the vicitim's unborn fetus suffocates to death, deserves whatever end they have coming. The sooner her demise reaches her (and the general public), the better.

77. It's called KARMA...what goes around comes back around and she DOES NOT deserve ANY compassion!!! She should die in prison PERIOD.

78. Let her sit in the slammer without any kind of pain medication and die a slow death. End of story.

79. No compassion for murders. She should have died years ago. I can't imagine what the poor families of her victims are going through right now. They have fought hard for years to keep her and the other members of the "family" right where they are and where they deserve to be. At her trial she stated when Sharon Tate begged for the life of her unborn child "I don't care a thing about you" so why should we care about her or her family. Life in prison means life in prison. You leave the day they put your body in the wooden box.

80. The Manson/Tate/LaBianca story haunts me to this day....this woman should not be let out....she is finally going to meet her maker.

81. Life in prison means exactly that!! She was old enough to know right from wrong-- she CHOSE to do the wrong thing and that was a little thing called COLD BLOODED MURDER!!!! Therefore, dying in prison is what is necessary and then meet the horned one for all eternity.....karma is a bitch, think before you do something stupid

82. what does she need to be let out for for a brain tumor, anyway? If she's bedridden what difference does it make? Most of the se monsters are phony christians. You can tell because it is always about them not the victim. Did she beautiful Sharon and her baby mercy? No! She told her she had none and se would die, even after Sharon Tate begged kill me in two weeks, but let me have my baby! F8ck this evil, vile, garbage. She should have been executed for 30 years ago.

85. Anyone who thinks this woman deserves any compassion should read Helter Skelter. Read about the depths of compassion and remorse she showed her victims. She enjoyed killing and while Manson led her down the path, she sure didn't drag her heels.

Life in prison is life in prison. No matter what pain she feels, it is still less than the pain she caused.

86. Susan Atkins should have the same compassion shown to her, as she showed to Sharon Tate and others she murdered, and that is NONE! She should rot in prison, who cares if she's dying, the fact that sharon tate was dying certainly didn't help her case with susan. She is obviously psychpathic, and in the report it states she has NOT SHOWN REMORSE! why the hell would anyone in their right mind let someone who doesn't give a damn that she actually MURDERED a human being, out of prison because the poor baby has cancer? it's called KARMA BITCH! Maybe, just maybe if she had shown one ounce of remorse the court would think differently, Susan Atkins made her own bed, and she will have to lie in it, hopefully until she dies a long painful death.

87. LET HER ROT TO DEATH IN PRISON,SURROUNDED BY THE FILTHY FLUIDS OF HER SLOW PAINFUL DEATH AN AS THE STENCH GROWS MORE PUNGENT,
SHE CAN THINK ABOUT WHY SHE WROTE THE WORD PIG IN SHARON TATES BLOOD.

88. Have you seen the crime scene photos. I have and only a sick twisted mind could have done what she did. And lets not forget she is the one who got everyone caught by boasting about it in prison. Sharon will never walk out of her grave so why should Susan walk out of her cell? A innocent baby got death lets not forget that either. Sharon never saw her baby. Never saw him go to school. Graduate from high school. Or become a grandmother herself. Lets not forget any of this when we think of Susan and lets not forget a woman who would kill a pregnant woman. Taste her blood, and write with it on walls. She opened her mouth she sealed her fate. Its all on Susan. She sealed her fate.

89. Absolutely not! Im shocked any of them were spaired.

90. It's too bad she didn't feel the need to show Sharon Tate and her poor unborn baby any compassionate release when she told her she didn't care about her or her baby so she better get ready to die. She should have put out of our missery a long time ago. Thankfully God is taking care of what the state refused to do. It's really doesn't matter that she's served almost forty years in prison since that was forty years that Sharon, her baby and the other victims didn't get to have.
