Rampage: Terror Outside the Ring

Turns out, if local news had run the Rampage Jackson car chase live, it could have gotten Super Bowl ratings because it was one of the craziest chases on record, causing pedestrians to "flee for their lives."

As TMZ first reported, the just-defeated UFC champ was busted yesterday afternoon for alleged felony hit and run. Now we have the details -- and they're insane! Rampage was on the 55 Freeway in the O.C., hit two cars and got off the freeway. The chase was on.

Rampage then began driving on the center divider. But it gets worse. According to the police report, Jackson then drove on the sidewalk, "causing pedestrians to flee for their lives." He started driving the wrong way on a crowded street, colliding with yet another car in an intersection. As he continued on, running several red lights, his tire disintegrated and he began driving on the rim.

Rampage eventually got to the exclusive Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, where he again drove on the sidewalk, "causing pedestrians to flee in terror."

Eventually, his car came to a stop and he was taken into custody at gunpoint. Cops took him to the Orange County Jail, but they determined he was "medically unfit" to be booked. Cops won't say if he was high.

Rampage is currently in an O.C. hospital.

46. No sense in making excuses for this pathetic and trifling excuse for a civilized human being. Everyone makes excuses for bitches like O.J. and Rampage Jackson, etc. It's time for the brotha-man to man-up, start being a man and not a thug, punk or shucker/jiver. Take your medicine and maybe you'll learn to be a man that the rest of civilized americans would want to associate with. Try being a "real" man like your half-brother, Tiger Woods. Now THAT's a man to look up to!

47. #41-
you sound like an ignorant fool. this is not a "brotha man" issue. his race has nothing to do with flipping out. it also has nothing to do with his being arrested. he made a mistake and will have to deal with it. but to be judged, when there is obviously somthing going on, is just pathetic. next time you screw up, i hope people don't crucify you like you're doing to rampage.

49. 36. To Joy who asked what was on the windshield of the red truck....it's a deployed airbag, not a sunshade. The red truck is the last car that Rampage plowed into before his surrender.

You are an idiot. The truck is in a parking spot. If you are going to make crap up at least make the story sound true. An airbag does not stay inflated, they have holes so the deflat after first impact.

50. to Winess....
WTF are you talking about??? What exactly did you WITNESS? a deployed airbag? If you were actually there, you would know that Balboa Peninsula has parking in the center median and the red truck was simply parked with a sunshade. You would also realize that front impact airbags dont deploy when the vehicle is hit on the side, and like SEED said, they dont stay inflated.

52. The guy needs a full medical evaluation.
He took a beating in his last fight, this kind of uncharacteristic behavior could be head injury induced.
Quinton is about the nicest guy you could ever meet, nothing like the character he plays for the fight shows.
Pray he gets the help he needs and that thank God no one was seriously injured.

54. I agree with kmom. No, I haven't met him, but I have seen lots of interviews with Rampage, and he always seems like a very mellow, nice man outside of the octagon.
As for Daemyon666 and Leo; first of all, I really doubt that you have seen Rampage fight much, if you think he sucks, and I would like to see where Rampage himself had any negative comments about the judges' decision in the fight with Forrest. He showed great respect for Forrest during and after TUF 7, the weigh-ins, and after the fight. The two of them have done great things for the UFC, and have generally shown themselves both to be very nice, normal guys outside of work.
Very easy to make an anonymous post, but I really doubt you would have the guts to tell him he sucks to his face. However, if you did, from what I have seen of him, Rampage would probably just laugh it off.

55. let me guess, all of these comments are left by stupid computer geeks that aren't even involved in this sport. if you are, he would kick your ass if you said this sh!t to his face. if you know anything about this sport you would know that most of the fu@king fighters are knuckleheads reformed and changed by this sport. i don't condone this behavior from anyone but we should all remember the phrase about glass houses. we all want to pay to watch an animal fight in a cage, but when they act up outside the cage we shame 'em...you should think about that instead of jumping on every band wagon that passes you by. no body said he was mister nice guy capiche?

56. Sometimes being mentally unstable can make a person do very strange and dangerous things to themselves and sometimes to others. Unfortunately he got in his car. He wasn't thinking straight. Its just not his personality. But, noone knows why Rampage did what he did only Rampage. Only someone who has actually seen or dealt with the affects of what depression can do can fathom what he was thinking through this tragic ordeal. Its not for us to judge.

57. The pregnant mother of one of the cars he hit lost her baby due to the accident. Rampage is on his way to prison. How sad.
