16. Ok this may sound mean, but honestly, this dispather sounded drunker than Drunky. Part of it was how inarticulate he is and how he doesn't enunciate properly. If this guy was on the phone with me, I'd freak thinking I was trying to get through to a moron. Dispatchers should have a calm, CAPABLE sounding demeanor, they shouldn't sound as if there next question should be 'you want fries with that'.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the job they have to do, it's probably never easy and often horrible, but when your only contact in a horrific accident is someone whose speech patterns sound lazy, your confidence in their abilities goes down.

Glad TMZ aired this audio. The more people who can hear firstand the devastation wrought by these Drunkys, the better.

17. I feel primarily bad for the injured girl, make no mistake about that. But I also feel bad for the driver. I've had a DUI myself, and thank God it was just a traffic pull-over and not an accident. Even really good people can have several drinks, think they are OK, and get behind the wheel. I'm by no means excusing that behavoir, but sometimes good people can make bad errors in judgement in these situations. The general, full proof "RULE OF THUMB" is: DO NOT GET ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR CAR WITH YOUR CAR KEYS IF YOU HAVE HAD ANYTHING TO DRINK IN THE LAST 24 HOURS.AND MY GOD, STAY AWAY FROM ALL OTHER SUBSTANCES, PRESCRIPTION OR STREET, BECAUSE THOSE GENERALLY STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM A LOT LONGER THAN ALCOHOL. The police are out for blood. And if they think you have any kind of mind altering substance in your body, even if it is just a little bit of cough syrupt, they will give you a DUI. They will give give you a DUI, with pleasure, even if your BAC is .02. The girl who caused this accident (assuming she caused it) life is going to be forever changed by this, now that she is looking at a probably feloney conviction.

19. I am a coroner's assistant. Alcohol stays in your blood for about 24 hours. We see about 50X more death by alcohol than we do any other substance. Death by alcohol withdrawal and alcohol related complications are very common. All those obits you see in the newspaper of people dieing when they are 40, 45, 50, a fair amount of those are alcohol releated. Alcohol is the one and only substance thats withdrawals can kill you. And, beleive me, it kills a lot of people. The medical industry keeps it unders wraps, because heaven forbid all the alcoholics stop cold turkey then start dropping like flyes. If you are an alcoholic, you don't have to go into an inpatient rehab facility or *cough cough* AA. Just go to your general practioner, and he can usually prescribe you a very strong sedetive to help ward off withdrawals and recommend you to a great support person or group that does not tell you lies like: you are powerless, you are diseased, you have no control, etc.

20. I truly believe that the reason she kept going is that she was so drunk she didn't even realize that she hit someone!! Most of us are guilty of thinking we aren't as drunk as we are and saying "Oh I will be fine" when in reality we have NO business being behind the wheel...This girl learned the HARD way!

21. This is tragic. I feel very sorry for the victim and I also feel sorry for the driver. What I want to know is why the boyfriend does not seem more concerned. Also, why was he not with her or willing to give up his number. I guarantee that he was messed up himself in some way. It just didn't seem right.

23. Sorry, but does anyone know what the difference is between:
DUI causing injury and driving with a .08 blood-alcohol level causing injury?
I know, I'm asking a foolish question, but, inquiring minds want to know.

24. 8. The criteria for 911 operators must be pretty low.

Dee: You get what you pay for. In my city the meter maids make more than 911 staff. That said, y'all who are slamming the dispatcher need to realize that he dispatched long before he said the amulance was on its way. The dispatch part happens immediately. The priority of response was determined as soon as the guy said a woman was hit by a car. All the rest thereafter is getting little bits of info but mainly keeping the caller in the line to fill in the boxes for follow up as the caller will likely be a witness in a criminal investigation.

25. Man is that lady really screwed she can do some serious time, looks as though it was a close call for loss of life. Don't drink and drive people, it's not worth it.

26. If you do drink and drive and hit someone, then remember to pull the car immediately and run away. At least it won't be a hit and run cause you're car is still THERE.

30. Is it too much to expect for the dispatcher to speak proper English? His grammar was frightening. The caller was calm. He was not related to the victim. He was being a good samaritan. He sounded totally frustrated with the dispatcher and I don't blame him. Even though the caller explained the siruation very carefully several times, the dispatcher didn't get it. He gave instructions reading from a script that had nothing to do with the situation at hand. I've heard a couple of night time 911 calls recently on the news where the dispatcher actually started snoring during the call. One woman died because of it. This sounded like another inept and/or sleeping dispatcher,
