Whenever black people try to defend the use of this, their most offensive word, they are belittling the efforts of all civil rights advocates, many who died for this cause & undermining all the advancements made thus far. If it is not ok for Imus or white or other non-black races to use, it is certainly not ok for Jesse (ESPECIALLY HIM!!- he should hold himself to a much higher regard because of his self-proclaimed "position/job" - keep hope alive my ass - more like keep hate alive) or Whoopie or any others to use, in any format or context. When they do, or when they defend its use by anyone, it is further perpetrating racism, hatred, bigotry, ignorance, insensitivity & should not be condoned. They become what they appear to protest against - hate mongers.

I do not like Elisabeth generally speaking, but her point is valid....She is closer to my age that Whoopi or Sherri or anyone on the panel, yet the old ducks want to stick with their POV and not take into consideration what she was talking about.

Maybe she meant that as a culture, how are we to move forward if people are insisting on being stuck in the past????

IMO, that word has NO PLACE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME....How is this word a "term of endearment!"

43. EH represents all that is wrong with America. She has nothing going for her but her looks because she has made it abundantly clear that she has nothing between her ears. Why was she crying? She wanted the "pain" to go away? what the heck was she talking about? She is a spoiled little princess, who has absolutely no idea what the REAL world is. 45. Whoopi is losing it. We all do LIVE in the same world now, today, the world in which the children they are discussing being brought up in. What Whoopi's mother got to do and not do has nothing to do with the discussion. Talking over someone and using the argument of 'you don't know what you are talking about' only makes Whoopi's side look weaker. Neither if them live in the same world as their viewer's based on the definition of 'privilege' or 'have and have nots'. It is tiring to see that most clips that wind up on the net are one of the panelist attaching Elizabeth. NO ONE on that panel has an advanced degree to worth waving over the other hosts head.
