Shreveport Police Say They're in the Wright

The PoPo in Shreveport are blowing off accusations of racism in the arrest of Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, saying they've found no proof of an alleged racially-fueled rant.
Josh Brolin and Jeff Wright
A spokesman for the Shreveport PD tells TMZ the chief has reviewed all in-car audio and video and found the officers used "professionalism" in the arrests. We're told witnesses at the scene say the arresting officers used extremely foul language -- including the "N" word -- and there's cell phone video of at least a portion of the confrontation.

We're also told other officers heard the offensive tirade, but Shreveport police tell us none have come forward. So far, the Department has not taken any action against the officers.

31. "22. If there was video from the patrol cars, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to determine if the video captured the entire ordeal and if it was altered. True, we haven't seen the cell-phone video, but have any of you people who are so quick to defend these Rosco and Cleetus cops seen THEIR allegedly exonerating video yet? Didn't think so. I find it a little suspect that the chief wouldn't share that video along with his press release. Until SOMEBODY produces one of these damn supposed videos, I'm staying on the fence like most sensible people.

Yeah, your reference to the police mirroring the fictional southern redneck deputies, 'Rosco and Cleetus cops', just screams fence sitting. lol

I'm sensible too. I'm not looking at the colors, I'm looking at the facts thus far as they've presented themselves, not by my misperception of the way things are simply because they're in the south.

32. Oh my, why is anyone surprised? Police can pretty much do what they want to including shooting an unarmed suspect. Unfortuanately it is a sign of the times. We have an executive branch which has trampled over the Constitution and an impotent Congress. So police abuse is par for the course. All citizens are fair targets!

33. Video from the patrol cars would only show what happened outside the club, not inside. It's not going to show the whole story.
An SPD officer got in trouble for getting tasing a patron at a downtown club last year. (It was on video.) Yet another SPD was fired because a DUI offender in his custody ended up bloodied. (Parf of it was videod, the officer turned the camera off.) The SPD chief said he gets numerous internal affairs complaints per month. http://www.ksla.com/Global/story.asp?S=7901683

I'm not saying the actors are innocent but SPD has a reputation of not handling things well. I'll be very curious to see the so-called cell phone video.

34. I live in Louisiana and until you have experienced the small town back woods police department we have in this state you have no clue! If you think it's not about who you know, what color you are, etc. here you are ignorant. More so than the trash we pay to protect us. It's disgusting. Oh yeah, I'm a white 45 year old middle class working female with no police record. I'm just speaking the truth.

35. Please be careful down there. if it walk like a duck, talk like a duck then it is a duck. This has nothing to to with the movie you were making but the sheer fact that different races were "socializing" out of their appropriate environments.
God bless you all and come home safe.

36. While I cannot say what happened during this incident, I have lived in Shreveport and know of multiple occasions where the Shreveport Police Department has used racial slurs during altercations. They have a history of this kind of behavior, so it's not surprising at all.

37. Silly TMZ, no disciplinarian action is being taken because the officer that used the foul language was black himself! I don't know this as fact of course, but according to the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, if he were black it would be OK. Right?
Back to the real world. I can all but garuantee, racial slurs were uttered. I live down here in the South. Racism is rampant. It's quite disgusting actually.

38. i have "sources" who tell me that the racial epithets were being hurled by the gathering crowd at the black police officer, not the other way around. Sounds about right to me.
