17. What is the fascination with those god awful Bratz dolls?! It sure as hell isn't the price! I'm glad my daughter who is 9 never asked for one and always asked for Barbies! They should take all Bratz and destroy them.

18. It has nothing to do with the similarity (or lack of) with Barbie; this guy signed something saying that what ideas he came up with WHILE working at Mattel belong to Mattel. They found a piece of paper where he came up with the idea, drafted some images, WHILE employed by Mattel. (This info is in the court reports.) Without those drawings, Mattel would have nothing and not be able to make any money. He had the option not to sign the anti-competition agreement upon hire and not be employed by them and make a great salary, benefits, etc. He can do whatever he wants with the new company as long as it was generated outside his employment with Mattel. Yes, Bratz made and makes a killing, and Mattel rightly wants a piece of the pie. It's competition and capitalism. He should have kept his ideas to himself until he was free and clear of Mattel. His bad.

20. There's no way Mattel would have ever produced that Bratz doll. Bryant could have come to them at the moment he thought of it and there's still no way they would have done it. It's like asking Disney to do Avenue Q! They would have told him how inappropriate the dolls were, how their shareholders would abandon them, how the public and their "good" image would suffer horribly. They didn't put a cent towards R & D, manufacturing, marketing. They didn't take any of the publicity risk. But they want all the profits?? The only compensation they have "earned" is recouping their lawyers' fees.

What's most disappointing is that Mattel has an entire corporation at their disposal to create whatever new, hot thing they want to blow us all away with and this is how they decide to plug their fiscal hole? Bratz may raise questions of age inappropriateness but Barbie's lessons aren't that much better.

21. Similar to what another poster said, it FIGURES that Bratz whore dolls were the creation of a man... It still surprises me that mothers don't have the backbone nowadays to tell their daughters,"NO, I'm NOT buying you a slut doll or anything associated with it because thats NOT what I want you be influenced by. DEAL with it." I have already explained to my daughters why I don't approve of Bratz (they are not allowed whatsoever) and they are perfectly happy with Barbie, who DOESN'T dress like a streetwalker and who sets a good example by having a variety of career choices. SUK ON THAT BRATZ! lmao
