Ex-Worker -- Mouse Wanted Junk in My Trunk!

A guy who brought a gun to work at Disney World -- and who wouldn't? -- claims he got canned because he wouldn't let the Mouse all up in the backside -- of his car.

Edwin Sotomayor says in a Florida lawsuit that he showed up for work on July 4 with a handgun locked in his trunk and Disney peeps wanted to check it out. When he refused, citing a new Florida law allowing people to keep weapons in their car while at work, Edwin says he was suspended and then fired three days later.

Disney says they're exempt from the law and they have a "zero-tolerance" for firearms in the workplace.

16. Yo #7,
A pox fart on your brain? This is FL law that has exemptions that allowed Disney to find the loophole. Yay, let's support the underpaid security guard w/a foreclosed mortgage's right to bring a gun to work! phhhhhhhhht. ahh.

17. Disney is indeed exempt. This guy doesn't have a case. He should not be allowed to have a gun there while at work. There is no purpose for him even having it there in his trunk. not like it would be ready for his use if need be. And if it ever got out that he hada gun in there, whos to say someone wouldnt try to break in and take it? Disney is right on this one.

18. The law's the law. And the law states that this guy can bring a gun to work if he wants to...as long as he keeps it in his car. Disney has no leg to stand on in this matter! The Supreme Court is going to back this guy all the way, and they're going to lose in a MAJOR way!

Break out the checkbook, bithces!!! Fired Disney security boy is gonna to get PAID!!!

19. I don't know why someone would insist on having a gun in his truck working at Disney unless he was up no good elsewhere or, I suppose, maybe even there. I recall, now this was a long time ago, that Disney had very strict policies about who they hired, as it should be. SOME PLACES SHOULD STILL BE SAFE!!! There's always some crazy idiot somewhere though.
As far as Florida's gun law goes, I see nothing wrong with that. There are so many rules about injuring someone if they break into your home, I don't have one, but I've often thought about going through the steps to becoming a gun owner.
Should anything ever happen, GOD forbid, trial by jury!!!

22. I have a friend that just moved to Orlando, from Detroit! He says the crime is worse then Detroit! He has had three break-ins and had to be kept in his home, because there was a murderer running away from the police. They had helicopters and police dogs running around this middle class neighborhood. Why not have and carry a gun? Who wants to be a victim. It was stored in his trunk! People don't understand "more guns less crime" Wake up people you need to protect yourself. Unless you think the police can be there within seconds. I hope this goes to the Supreme Court...we will have another victory. Check out the crime rate in Orlando before you judge why he has a gun!!!
