Celebrity Justice
Simon Sues: Tick Tocked Off

Paul SimonPaul Simon is suing a wall clock distributor for using the song "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" to keep time.

Simon filed suit in Manhattan federal court today, claiming Rhythm USA Inc. has sold 40,000 wall clocks that play versions of his legendary tune.

Simon wants to clean the company's clock to the tune of $10 mil. Like a "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," that should ease his mind.

3. I think Paul Simon is right. Hope he wins. Many of the "Simon and Garkunkel" songs have I grown up with, as a teen back in the 60's. Especially, "I Am a Rock" and "Homeward Bound." oh,and "Scarborough Fair.". Thanks for the Memories...

4.
What's happening to these greedy old celebs, do they live so large & stupid they need to sue someone to maintain their lifestyle until they die?
We the consumer will pay for this lawsuit if he should win, everytime we buy a clock for years to come!
he should be paid the going rate for copy right use of his song, not a penny more.

11. It's His Song, He wrote it, he's legally entitled to ALL Royalties from it's usage. Also, being that He owns the rights to the song.. He is the one who is to decide how it may be used. The company making these clocks didn't bother getting any type of permission from Him, his record label, his layers.. nothing. They are clearly in the wrong, and they gotta fork over the Cash. It's as simple as that. If it was Me and My Music, I'd be suing too... and So would You. Copyrights are put in place for a reason, so don't even try to act like it's just about "Greed". :P
