Appreciation for Jolie's humanitarian work does not have anything to do with belittling the military or policemen, etc., so don't confuse the issue. Since early 2001, on behalf of UNHCR, she has been to over 20 countries, most of them still wartorn. She has spent that time in refugee camps, rape camps and amputee camps. These are not glamorous photo ops. She does not travel to these places with body guards, nannies and hairdressers. She usually goes to these places...alone. And pays her own way. Granted, she does not fight on the front lines, but does bear witness to the aftermath of war. It's fine if you do not like her, but don't use our soldiers as excuses for your ill-informed animosity.

All part of a degraded society that is broken and soon to go down in history as "America, the Rise and Fall"....won't be long before the empire's malls and strip centers will be 20 to 50% empty and along with the crash of retail will be another quake of losing a major auto dealer and an airline mfg. plus banks and the fall of Wall Street. It's OK though the rich will survive as they off-shored their dollars to euro's way back and actually do very well. These two love birds are fine....they are part of the 2% who owns 73% of the US. 33. Is it true that Jolie & Pitt donate to the Jolie-Pitt foundation, which is a pool set up for tax purposes? From there, they donate some of the money to charitable organizations. Why can't these two ever donate anonymously like so many actors do?

I'm sorry but France can keep these two. I'm sick of Americans paying lots of money to see their movies but America is not good enough to birth their children.

34. No. It is set up as charitable foundation. Period. In the United States, many philanthropic and charitable organizations are considered to be foundations. However, the Internal Revenue Code distinguishes between private foundations (usually funded by an individual, family, or corporation) and public charities (community foundations or other nonprofit groups that raise money from the general public). Private foundations have more restrictions and fewer tax benefits than public charities. ( I googled this info). Theirs is a private foundation, obviously. Announcing donations is a way of encouraging others to do likewise. They went to France to escape the paparazzi and have their babies in relative peace. France has stricter paprazzi laws. Can you imagine the uproar if they tried to have the babies delivered here in the states? The paps would be jumping on top of women in the maternity ward trying to get their shots. They'd probably even try to impersonate doctors to sneak in.

36. Katie Couric is great on CBS, she certainly made me switch my News channel, I find her extremely intelligent, sincere and totally professional. CBS is fortunate to have such a class act on their network.

40. To all, I am far from uninformed or a stupid Yank. I have personal opinions, just like yours. Do I call you uninformed and stupid? I think not.

Please, Brangelina are no more important than the next pregnant couple. JLo and Mark just had twins in the US--no maternity ward fiasco. You will probably say that is because they aren't as famous or important. Not the reason why. I work in a hospital with a tightly secured maternity ward. We have HIPPA laws, etc. Are all foolproof; of course not--nothing is. Stronger privacy laws in France. Jee, the paps had her leaving the hospital, etc., etc. You would have seen just as much as you would have if she was here in the US.

My point about our military is that they are the true heroes. She may have brought attention to the plight of people in need; honorable yes. Please, she had bodyguards--maybe not seen on camera, but they were there. How honorable was it though for her to risk the lives of her unborn twins by going into a war zone? I think most informed Americans know how terrible it is in a war-ravaged county. Risking your unborn children is STUPID. She is so worried about the paps but could care less if she was shot by sniper fire. Then you will say--she was wearing armour and had BODY GUARDS. Please, give it up folks. I don't think she has her priorities straight sometimes; and so much of what she does is for publicity. THAT IS MY OPINION. I am neither stupid nor uninformed.

And again, I think it is totally tacky to sell pictures of your babies. I don't care who gets the money. If it isn't being put away for those two babies it is wrong. AGAIN, THIS IS MY OPINION.

Remember too, charity begins at home and doesn't have to be announced. It becomes self-serving when you need the whole world to know you were charitable.
