33. I have a feeling that mum and sis have been out of his life for a long time and they just showed up at his hotel unannouced, feeling a little tipsy and very entitled. I feel bad for Christian - he doesn't deserve this kind of negative attention. Let's save that for Paris and Lindsey!

As you can see, all of this is nothing but hurt feelings and hot air. As an actor who has kept away from the limelight, and as one who is known for his professionalism, I find it doubtful that Bale would physically harm anyone, let alone family. This is confirmed by numerous reports. Though I do not accept it all as fact, the fact remains that this mild mannered actor has given us little reason to question his character in the past. Furthermore, as stated in the article link, the dispute was verbal, not physical. Most of all, however, the situation is being treated as a family matter and even the sister and mother want to keep it that way. (Even ET has reported that, and that in fact they did not even call the police). I find it disturbing that the media is using the coat-tails of a blockbuster to rabble rouse a story that is so small. The Movie speaks for itself, Bale has spoken for himself, and thus to repeat the headlines, "assault by batman star" is not only inaccurate, but also hearsay. Moreover, the media has not consulted the laws in the United Kingdom, as an assault can be either verbal or physical. The headlines lead unquestioning readers to assume physical violence, where in actuality there is only evidence that a family dispute has taken place. Please, check your facts and update the story accordingly. Im glad TMZ at least covered that legal fact in their reporting, no matter how many times they miss the mark. A lot of other sources (MSN, YAHOO) have yet to include that little tidbit in their reporting.

39. omg, its crazy how people are so quick to judge others when something goes wrong. there are those of you calling his mum and sis bitches and golddiggers and then there are those of you calling Christian Bale a drug addict and that he should go to hell because he pushed or brushed his mother. and then there are those of you that Christian is jealous that Heath got all the glory should just shut the hell up! i mean seriosly if you look at his film choices over the past 21 years it really seems that he doesn't like the spotlight. i'm not condoning hitting other people but some people like to act like they've never done anything wrong in their entire life. what gives you the right to judge other people like you so are innocent.

Why would his mom and sister want to hurt him? They just had a family quarrel and he probably has a short fuse. He should certainly not have pushed his mom, if that was what happened. They will soon be on good terms again. They're family. This was not good for his reputation.

Maybe something negative, that he doesn't want his little daughter around. Sounds like his mother and sister just want money and will use his fame of "Dark Knight" to bring him down. Stupid people.

“Batman star Christian Bale allegedly assaulted his mother and sister after becoming depressed over strains in his marriage and the death of close friend Heath Ledger, it was claimed last night.”
