Shia's Crash -- Blow-by-Blow Account

We have learned details of what happened just moments after the crash.

A witness tells us he heard a loud crash around 2:45 AM, then the sound of Shia's truck rolling over. The witness said he heard what he thought was a girl screaming "F**k," among other things.

When he got down to scene, Shia was already out of the car and the female riding with him was crawling out of the driver's side of the truck. The truck was smoking, making noise and still running. The driver of the other car was also out of the car by this time.

Shia and the female stood over by a wall while people were checking to see if everyone was okay. The witness said unlike most of the wrecks he's seen in the dangerous intersection, no one was cursing or yelling at each other. It took the cops 4-5 minutes to arrive at the scene.

Two ambulances -- along with one fire truck -- showed up, and all parties involved walked to an ambulance unassisted. There were no breathalyzers or tests done at the scene.

16. Just drove throught the intersection. Still lots of debris from the accident. Pieces of plastic, glass, etc. So was he drunk or not?? Where are the pictures of the passenger? Name??????

19. I am a huge Shia fan, going back to when I predicted he would become a big star after first watching him on "Even Stevens". But the guy has to be one of the biggest hypocrites in the book. He went on record many times saying that he will never become one of those Hollywood types who are in the news for alcohol and drug problems. Now he is in the news for alcohol problems twice within 12 months. The guy is a good actor, but he's becoming just another in a long line of teenage actors who can't handle their drinking.

22. People act surprised..teens everywhere have the same attitude as Shia, oh, I can drink and drive..it doesn't affect me, but it does and this is proof of what can happen when you do it. I am glad nobody was seriously injured or even killed, next time maybe they won't be so lucky. Hope Shia gets it together and doesn't throw his career away on some stupid partying.

23. Sorry; I don't make excuses for people just because they're stars of whatever kind. Seems like you take your life in your own hands driving around Hollywood with all the druken celebrities tearing around in big vehicles, while local law enforcement seems to bend over backwards to kiss their asses. He'd be all sorry and remorseful if he plowed into a minivan and killed a kid, but the kid would still be just as dead. And wasn't he just involved in some other sort of 'drunk' situation? I can't remember what it was, but it seemed to me it was fairly recent.

he should get years in jail..not weeks or days or 2½ hours.....but about 3 years.......maybe then they will think twice.

29. OMG...ok YES it was stupid of him to drink and drive but categorize him as an alcoholic is a lil bit overboard, he is 22 and was probably out having fun!! Sober people have gotten in worse accidents due to being distracted by something or other. too bad shia is in the public eye, this is probably being blown waaaaaay out of proportion! also no one does time for first time DUI offenders they just pay a mess of fines, at least thats what my friend did

30. Where is the equal punishment??? Why do "celebrities", (using that term REAL loosely) such as the likes of Paris Hilton or Khloe Kardashian for example, break the same laws that are created for ALL people to abide by, yet get nothing more than a slap on the wrist?!?!
I know that they claim that the jails are over crowded so they have to let people go. Ok, so why not let someone that committed the same type of crime, that has actually SERVED the months it would take to LEARN A LESSON out to make room for these "privledged" humans???? ESPECIALLY, when it's the same dumba@@ repeat offenders?!?! Let's start making room for the "celebrities" and NOT send them to some pansy a@@ establishment to pampers and caters them. Let them get a taste of what the average person has to go through. Give them a reason to clean up their acts before God forbid they cause the death of an innocent person or family.
We have to QUIT ALLOWING THIS!!!
