Mr. Olympia Rages at Gold's Gym

Ronnie Coleman, who has been crowned Mr. Olympia (do they crown them??) eight times, is suing Gold's Gym for allegedly using his muscles to lure in members.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Coleman claims Gold's used a photo of him to advertise Gold's ... a photo that was plastered on posters.

Coleman is suing for misappropriation of image, invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment. He's seeking unspecified damages and an injunction putting the kibosh on the poster.

46. To all those spreading mis-information:

*Arnolds heart condition is genetic.
*Of course Ronnie or any BBer can "open a pickle jar for his wife" - what a ludicrous thing to say.
*Ronnie is not "as unhealthy as a 1000lb man". He exercises regularly and closely monitors what he eats. Sure, that much muscle will stress his heart a little, but it's a LOT better than sitting around doing no exercise and eating cake, which I'm sure most of the ignorant folks posting comments here do.
*Steroids DO NOT only stretch out the muscle. They increase protein synthesis and nuclear transcription of DNA into muscle. Whichever so-called 'medical student' wrote this misinformation should not be allowed to graduate. Unfortunately he will be.
*Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Persoanlly I find Ronnie to be a bit too extreme in his level of muscularity. However you cannot deny the incredible level of dedication and sacrifice needed to attain his number one spot in the sport of pro bodybuilding.
*To the 'tard who said "That's exactly why I don't go to a gym... Freak!": You moron. You think that just by going to a gym you'll look like that? Grow a brain. It takes years of dedication to even begin to resemble this level of muscular devlopment. Go to the gym and work off some fat. You'll feel better and won't have to hurl insults over the net in order to feel good about yourself.

48. BUSHIDO is right on the mark...on every mark......

To the "Medical Student" : Please do yourself a favor and research more about steroids...Try your best to discern what is true or not...Do not fall into what the media or other so called "EXPERTS" say.. You would be surprised when you finally reach the truth...There is so much false information out there and I don't blame you for being misinformed..

Keep learning..........or else you would continue to sound ignorant.....seriously....The fact that you are in med school makes you sound even more ignorant...ONCE AGAIN, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND RESEARCH MORE ABOUT STEROIDS....

49. Considering 58% of female readers on this site are 35+ years old, the anti-bodybuilding sentiment is completely understandable. I'm quite certain most of you struggle with your Tony Little Gazelle once in a blue moon, desperately trying to shed cellulite and lard off your flabby bodies.

Ronnie Coleman is one of the best in the world. Can YOU claim that with ANY endeavor?

50. In regards to the story, I believe he has the right to receive compensation. Ronnie is seen as an icon in the bodybuilding community. He shares the record for most consecutive Mr. Olympias. His physique is a symbol and he should receive compensation IF this is true.

On another note, most of these comments about make me sick. While he took steroids (Obviously), the steroids only do so much. It's a multi-fascited approach to receive a body like that. It involves great genetics, hard-work (Which most of the people on here and our society in general know nothing about), proper nurition (With some anabolic steroids), and dedication. Alcohol is out of the question. The much beloved McDonalds would kill (More so than normal) everything in his life. It's despicable that people would tear him down for this. Arnold and Ronnie made quite nice lives out of this. Neither of them really need to have a 9-5 anymore in their life. Think about that.

The cells in your body retain water from CREATINE. That's why people look 'pumped' from it. Steroids raise the testosterone in the body. That's why they induce muscle growth. Funny how a med student can be ignorant from that fact.

The funny part about those 'toned' up guys in the gym is that they are what I like to call a "beach warrior." They simply train their arms and chest; misproportionalizing their muscles. I wonder why they all walk with their arms in front like they are constantly doing a flye exercise? Could it be because their posture is thrown off by a lack of strengthened back muscles to offset the over used pectorals? Hmm... And don't even get me started on legs.

If you don't want a body like that, don't try for it. It takes constant amounts of calories, a little extra help, and AMAZING dedication. But for God's sake... please don't tear somebody down for dedicating their life to such a strenuous task (Don't think it is? Then look at how you are calling him a 'freak,' think that is a tad bit demoralizing?). He shows a lot more initiative than half the people in our 'glorious' country that constantly is whining about not receiving a hand out... I miss the hard-work in this country.

-This is coming from somebody who will never touch 'roids. I don't want/need that stuff. I am fine with a smaller frame (I'm at 170 and will never be larger than 200 pounds). I wrote this to respect people with the hard work such as Arnold Schwarzenneger and Ronnie. Everyone tearing him down should be ashamed. This article is not a witch hunt, it's about a man wanting compensation for his accomplishments.-

51. Ronnie Coleman isn't a skinny 130lb GQ twig model for a reason. Professional-level bodybuilding is a sport of extremes and going to the extreme to resemble a statue carved out of stone or an inhuman like figure. It's about reaching a goal unattainable by 99% of the average population (ie: TMZ readers). Then again, most (if not all) of the readers on this site will never accomplish 1/1000th of what Coleman has done in an extremely hard sport. And why do the ignorant on here assume Ronnie takes "MASSIVE AMOUNTZ OF STEROIDS!!!!!1111"? It's pretty obvious he does take SOME, but steroids are useless without a large food intake and heavy weight training to support the muscle growth. You don't take steroids and inflate to a 300lb monster over night. It's very sad when the average woman would take a 130 pound twig or a beer gut man over an athlete. Also, bodybuilders are some of the healthiest (if not THEE healthiest) athletes in the world. In a sport that revolves around clean eating around the clock, consistent exercise (both cardiovasular and weight training), it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. What's the difference between a 150lb Olympic sprinter and Ronnie Coleman? Food intake. Both take an amount of steroids to recover faster, and both use weight training and bust their ass day in and day out for glory. Don't criticize someone because they aren't your ideal Justin Timberlake-sized weakling. Respect the work and dedication for 15+ years.

53. To all you body builder wannabe's that claim that steroids do no harm, stop being ignorant ironheads. The evidence that anabolic steroids cause testicular and brain cancer, liver damage, and other ailments is overwhelming. I'd cite specific studies, but you'll just dismiss them as propaganda.

Keep pumping up and be dead at 55 - we don't need you.

Yes, Ronnie's workout is extreme, and he is to be commended for that aspect, but if ANYONE thinks he achieved that size without steroids, you are as ignorant as you are stupid.
