Hey lady-- you can't do that at the airport! Perpetually disheveled "comedian" Jerry Lewis got stopped Friday in the Vegas airport for having an unloaded gun in his carry-on.

Cops tell us he was walking through security when TSA officials spotted the gun in his bag. Jerry told cops -- can you guess -- that he didn't know the gat was there, adding that Jerry's kids other "members of his family" had been using the bag.

The 82-year-old was cited for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and released.

Lewis' manager tells us it was a "fun gun" -- essentially a show prop -- and he did not know it was in his bag. Sure Jer, they all say that.

18. it just shows what lack of respect this web site has. As a supporter of MDA and Jerrys kids I think this website should be ashamed of itself for posting such a rude comment. Jerry may be an idiot but the kids he supports I know first hand deserve nothing but RESPECT.

24. With all do respect to Jerry, how do you just "happen" to have a gun in your luggage? If the bag was used by someone other than himself, the gun should be properly stored in the first place, not just thrown in a piece of luggage. My point here is that if it were anyone of us, the general public we would certainly have been detained if not arrested. I wish we could all get away with " I didn't know it was in there". They have no problem making a big deal out of a pair of nail clippers. Gimme a break.
