16. While speed walking can make a man look like a flamboyant gay man - anybody who speed walks looks like that. Male , female, trans-gender, etc. This commercial is making fun of speedwalking as a form of exercise - it's not making fun of gays.

If you want to blame anybody for this appearing anti-gay - blame those who invented speed walking as a form of exercise.

17. I've always thought speedwalkers look "gay". I'm gay. Doesn't true speed walking look like it would put undue pressure on your hips? Over time wouldn't that cause problems?

I say no one looks happier to get a hold of those nuts than Mr. T -- he even laughs feverishly as he takes off to the next person who needs to run "like a man"!

18. Ummm....I'm gay and I thought that the ad was hilarious. I like men who look and act like men. A booty-short-wearing-speedwalking-queen would be just as much of a turnoff to me as it was to Mr. T. Don't lie and tell me you didn't think it was funny too! Being PC is soooo boring.

20. As a gay man, I have to say that I'm on the fence about this one.

While speedwalkers do walk at that pace, this guy's ass was really all over the place moving in an over exaggerated motion and he was clearly supposed to be depicted in a effiminate way.

I am also a member of the HRC, and I can see why they would blast this ad. Think of all the gay men and women all over the country that have bashed in the past as they walk down the road minding their own business. We come in all shapes and sizes from the butchest construction workers to drag queens, so WITHOUT INTENTIONALLY TRYING, this ad mirrors people who gay bash.

I personally am not offended per se, but I can see how some would be offended, and I also see how others are like "who cares?!?"

22. Who cares if speedwalking seems gay or not. The whole thing about having candy bars shot at some innocent person and being told how to walk is offensive. It is gas bashing actually. It's re-enforcing that you have to be manly and like the videos tagline said "get some nuts". It's sad and not fun at all. It's not about being offended, It's about people having the right to be who they are and it's not playful or good to harass people and tell them who to be and judge them. I agree that they stepped over the line and what they tried to do in humor just came across as deaming and hurtful to gay people who have been through harassment their entire lives.

23. isnt speed walking a way of getting fit? its less intense than jogging.(loads of people speed walk here gay or straight.) well thats what it is in the uk. i think its sucks. everyone has to be politically correct nowadays....such a shame

26. Oh please, this commercial was meant to be random and catch you off guard. I thought it was hilarious.... this world is turning into such a bore, you can't have any fun without getting called out for being politically incorrect. Even when that wasn't the intention.
Like spindoc said, the people who are getting mostly offended are straight. It's ridiculous that there's people that have to analyze EVERYTHING they see instead of just enjoying the moment for what it is. The thought wouldn't even has crossed my mind if I had saw this on tv.

29. i'm gay and i wasn't offended. i can see why people got upset, though. i didn't see the speedwalker as being gay. the ad may have missed the mark a little bit by mr t. saying "run like a real man" as opposed to just the speedwalker being shown. otherwise, i doubt it would have been a problem.
