McCain Says Obama Famous for Being Famous

John McCain has defended his latest campaign ad, not-so-subtly comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.

In the ad, you see images of Paris and Brit flash across the screen for a split second, then Obama, as the announcer says, "He's the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?" The unspoken implication: another famous flake.

McCain's peeps just came out with this statement: "This ad obviously also addresses a unique facet in Barack Obama's campaign that is unlike any other campaign we've seen in modern political history. A campaign that is focused on the development of an enormous image of celebrity status."

The statement continues, "These images of celebrity status and the way he has conducted his campaign ... owe more to the development of an international celebrity status than it does to a traditional campaign for President."

Translated, McCain is comparing Obama to a woman who shaved her head in a fit of craziness and another who skanked up the screen with a sex tape.

31. Actually, there's a large article in the Washington Post about Obama's visit to the wounded vets:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/29/AR2008072902286.html?nav=hcmodule

Not only that, but many military leaders, as well as the leaders of Iraq also say that a 16 month withdrawal is favorable. McCain himself indicated just today that he is open to that idea.
I'm not a fan of either one, but at least be educated about the subject before you open your mouth.

32. Hey 14. I'll name two things. (1) HE'S NOT MCCAIN. (2) HE'S NOT REPUBLICIAN. Hell, let's make it 3. HE'S NOT 71 YEARS OF AGE AND CAN REMEMBER WHAT HE HAD FOR BREAKFAST!!!

34. Obama is an empty suit. He can't handle the position.
But if he does win, remember we needed four year of the Malaise Carter Administration before the American people realized we needed Ronald Reagan as our President.
So we may need another Malaise (Obama) four years to get everyone to realize we need someone to go in and clean it up.

40. After watching these McCain attacks--I mean, ADS--I come away with the same question:

WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR MCCAIN??? WHERE DOES HE STAND ON THE ISSUES??? WHAT POLICIES WILL HE PUT IN PLACE THAT WARRANT MY VOTE????

He's too busy launching LAME attacks to give the voters anything of substance. For this reason, it's OBAMA '08 for me!

42. jj if you think McCain is the third term of Bush (he didn't not agree or vote with Bush consistently on the bills and he actually ran against him in the bid for Presidency)
Then Obama is the second term of the Malaise Jimmy Carter Administration - the biggest joke of a President, and the worst administration in the history of the USA
We can thank Carter for the highest interest rates and unemployment ever. Also he is an Anti-Semite among his long list of failures.

43. Comparing a United States Senator to Britney or Paris is ridiculous. That is an insult to the millions of people across the country who voted to give this man a shot at running the most powerful country in the world.

44. McCain is behind in the polls. Obama has remained above the negativity which is good. McCain has become negative thru his ads and statements and said he would not do that. Given he has gone back on his word, says much about his character. He is flip flopping on his commitment to not raise taxes. He's toast!

45. i think that anyone who would bad mouth a 5 year (5 YEARS!!!!!!!) prisoner of war is an unthankful piece of sh!t. its because of soldiers like him, that we can all come to this site and comment on our thoughts. you think the freedom to live our lives the way we want came free? it most definitely did not. many, many soldiers paid the ultimate price so all you hippy a$$ liberals can sit back and pass your judgements on everyone else. you hippies think that all these freedoms were just handed to you. that you deserved them. well, i highly suggest you take a history class sometime. we should all praise soldiers like mccain.

obama has done nothing for this country. hell, that un-american a$$hole wont even recite the pledge of allegiance. wake up people, he has more ulterior motives than any of us can imagine. just because all these "celebrities" are endorsing obama, i am too? i dont think so. it insults my intelligence that dumbf@cks, like scarlett johansen, think that i will vote for someone just because they like them. puh-lease.

i am neither republican or a democrat. i vote based on what i have researched. i would never go to that voting poll blind.
and after everything i have seen and read, obama is not to be trusted. he changes his stance on issues, depending on who he is talking to. he is fake and the most un-american presidential candidate EVER. look it up.
